2026 Ford Explorer Replaces Vista Roof With Fixed Glass Option

Honestly, given the amount of sunroof leaks and/or wind noise complaints, it's probably a good decision. I'd bet they were getting a ton of (extended) warranty claims on sunroof leak issues and someone ran it up the flagpole to see if they could make this change. I actually think it's a good...

81 days at dealer for our 21 ExpST... Well crap, it needs to go back.

That's disappointing, but not entirely unheard of. I've had similar experiences with other brand vehicles. I hate to say it, but I echo my statement in post #13.

    P0128 Thermostat Stuck Open

Figured as much. Im still under warranty, but I might tackle this myself vs deal with dealer and not having the vehicle for a few days

    P0128 Thermostat Stuck Open

did you ever solve this? Same issue. P0128 was pending and stupid me cleared the code by mistake. Now waiting for it to come back but seeing temps in the 172-176 range on a 90 degree humid day. Seems a little too cool. In my mind it should be 190-200 degrees. Coolant level fine.

    2026 Ford Explorer Tremor

well that’s an interesting move. I wonder the reasoning behind that? Looks like ‘26 ST gets bench seat and additional wheel options? Curious to see what those are

    2026 Ford Explorer Tremor

I kinda agree. At least when the ST debuted for the '20 model year, Ford detuned the Platinum slightly so there was a performance incentive to get the ST in the explorer lineup Now you can get a 3.0tt in several different trims of explorer and aviator at 400HP, as well as in the Bronco and...

Let's see those roof racks and cargo boxes (Thule)!

I ended up doing exactly that yesterday. I moved the rear crossbar back and slide the box back a bit to where it looks a bit more balanced.

    2026 Ford Explorer Tremor

Yup. I had that same reaction when i first heard of it.

    2026 Ford Explorer Tremor

But they already do. Maverick LOBO is already on the Ford Website for US market and F150 is coming in the fall according to all the articles that dropped in the last week.

Did Standard ST brake conversion to PIU Brakes

Master Cylinder So if the piston sizes increase, without any correlating master cylinder bore diameter increase, then the pedal stroke would have to increase and feel would have to be a little bit softer. That's just the nature of hydraulic systems Is it enough to notice? Probably not given...

    2026 Ford Explorer Tremor

Not my cup of tea, but nothing wrong with it. I just prefer more street performance. Looks like Ford is consolidating/standardizing their product trim levels. Timberline replace with Tremor which aligns with other models. This has me thinking about what the future is for the Explorer ST...

    Car Covers

I've found outdoor covers do more damage than help. They may protect against the elements, but if it's windy and they move and shift it creates rub marks at the high spots. It's more of a long term issue, and probably more severe if you haven't done anything to protect your paintlike PPF or...

Did Standard ST brake conversion to PIU Brakes

Good writeup. I have a coworker who wants to do the swap and was asking me if the MC is the same between the standard brakes and the PIU/Street brakes? I tried looking it up but was hard to find info on if there was a different MC (with different piston bore diameter) between them. Is...

Let's see those roof racks and cargo boxes (Thule)!

put the box on. weighed it before install. Came in at 48 pounds. Forgot to weigh the crossbars but they felt about 5 pounds each. So really I have 15-20 pounds to hit the Ford limit. I’ll likely go a little beyond that. Comes in at 88” of height for my model. I can slide the sunroof...

    Aftermarket/OEM 2nd Row Window Shades for '25 Job 2

I have these. Driving with the 2nd and 3rd row in, it does reduce heat/sun in the back. Unfortunately you still have the rear window and sunroof (if equipped). On overcast days it's plenty dark. Does it make a significant measurable difference? Unknown. Just a warning, with the 2nd row...

    forscan spreadsheets

Just tried this. Still doesn't work. ENable "mirror tilt in reverse". Put vehicle in R and hit left and right mirror button and nothing happens.

PIU Brakes Greasing Caliper Bracket Guide Pins

Slide pins seizing up is a common issue with all calipers of this design in general. Usually what i do is remove the slide pins, remove any rubber inserts on them and hit them on a buffer to shine the pins up. Then for the bores, i'll usually buy a hone brush for a drill. Add some lubricant...

    Aftermarket/OEM 2nd Row Window Shades for '25 Job 2

Those are the ones I have. I just run the 2nd and 3rd row ones in all the time since I rarely have anyone sit back there. I only use the front ones if i want to black everything out for privacy or security along with a sunshade for the windshield.

    What’s this Button Do?

It’s a humidity sensor designed to help keep the windshield from fogging up. Ford has a patent on this system and I think the 2020 Explorer was the first US vehicle to get it...
