I got second row bench seat... that may be the hold up.. seems like most people get the captions chares in the second row

Its literally the same as the captains chairs but without the hole in the middle. No different from 2020 Explorer's with the 2nd row bench seat.

Yes, my dealer said since it has been taking long to get vehicles it made sense to just order a 22 - which we did and he was amazing. Ordered both a captains chair set for the back seat and a bench 6 months behind that and told me if I dont like the captains chairs then we can swap to the bench...

Yep, definitely new for 22. Also have a bench seat on my 20 and its open space there. My 18 Sport had very similar ones, they were pretty useful especially if I had 3 passengers. Would be nice if we can add the bracket.

I thought that was what I remembered when checking the previous years. So I would say it is definitely the replacement for the deleted floor console. Should be helpful for those with captain chairs on their 2022. I think it is also useful for bench seat applications.

...on the back of the center console. Could have missed seeing it on previous year models, or is it the replacement for the now deleted floor console for the captain chairs. I have the bench seat so I was not concerned about that deletion since the bench has a fold down armrest with cup holders.

Is it possible? And would a third car seat fit in the bench if one was a booster seat?

I've got a 2 year old and one on the way, this is why I went captains chairs. And easier access to the back as the seats are not going to fold when there are car seats in there.

Wish the middle bench seat would slide. I have a 2021 model and the left & right seats slide, but not the middle. So when the other two are moved back, the middle one juts out. :confused:

Yeah I’ve heard they improved it. Which is good! I think I could go either way. However I went captain chairs this go around. Seems like the ideal setup for kids from what I’ve heard from other parent drivers.

The bench seat on the 20+ are actually usable for 3 people especially the middle person. Much more comfortable, roomier and wont leave a gap in the middle when you flatten the seats down.
