This is an offshoot of the thread regarding the stock B&O system... For those of you planning to change it, what are you planning to do? back 20 years ago I used to be into car audio and did a fair number of installs, but nothing with "modern" integrated infotainment systems, but I cant...

    "Rooting" Sync system?

Does anyone know if anyone has messed with "rooting" or accessing the actual hardware that sync runs on? Aftermarket Security?

Hey all. I spend a lot of time outside of the US for work, and as a result my vehicle is left unattended for long periods of time. Does anyone use, or have used an aftermarket security system that can send you alerts to your phone? So say I am in Africa somewhere and my car alarm goes off, I...

Getting irritated with some of the driver assist functions

Living in the DC area, the adaptive CC is actually pretty fantastic. Like the ACC, which you can set the follow distance, I wish you could set the "alarm distance" for the other sensors. Yes, I know I am 4cm from the pillar in the parking garage, there is nothing I can do about it, stop yelling...

Getting irritated with some of the driver assist functions

Overall, I am happy with everything, however sometimes some of the driver assist functions just get in my way, so to speak. This afternoon, for example, I was backing into a space and I kept getting a proximity warning for the left rear quarter panel when there was nothing there but a shadow...

    So my first mod/upgrade...

Uhm...or you can buy a $99 OBDII bluetooth module and use forescan to change it, and a lot of other stuff. Or, plug something into the trailer harness. $99 just for that is a little ridiculous.

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

You should see Diplomatic Security suburbans, especially high-threat that have electronic countermeasures, LRAD, HVAC cutoff, ABS cutoff, airbag cutoff, cabin over-pressurization, etc. Oh, and they are armored. A tech once told me there can be up to 2.5 miles of extra wiring between lights...

New guy, new ST in Arlington / DC

Hey all. Bought an ST off the lot a few weeks ago, oh and it had a check engine light on when I bought it (Saturday afternoon). Monday brought it back, turns out a hose clamp on one of the turbos was loose, and the hose was not seated fully, producing a boost leak. 10 minute fix, no problems since.
