That's one of the reasons I punted the 305/35/22 for 295/40/22.

We got 13,000 miles out of the rear Michelin sport tires we had on our 2004 BMW M3 convertible. Fronts would last twice as long. Guess they were too soft a compound.

I would say a 22x10 would be the best rim width for the 295/40/22 tire as the sidewall would be almost vertical. The sidewall tilts inwards (at the tread) slightly with 22x10.5 and would tilt inwards even more with the 22x11's. Offset for all should be +30.
