    SCT tuner

I had a couple of 5.6's on my old phone so all I had on my new one was this one, which came back invalid due to being ever so slightly downhill. Mine would not launch worth a damn with the stock tune.

    SCT tuner

91 octane, cooler weather, still crappy DA I'm happy with it, for now.

Anyone want a chrome grill? Or have a black grill to sell?

Sounds like that is all they had on the lot and with Ford giving big rebates back due to the soft platinum sales, the sales guy worked his magic.

Anyone want a chrome grill? Or have a black grill to sell?

I doubt you'll find anyone here who wants a chrome grille on their ST but you never know. I'll happily miss out on the two tone seats to not have to walk up to the gawdy chrome bits on a platinum.

Probably a dumb question about winter tires but......

Where did you get the Brembo's for an ST? I take it you are talking about the Street or Track Pack, which are not Brembo brakes-they are a pretty standard sliding caliper rather than a fixed caliper like higher end braking systems. Lots of 20" wheels will fit those without worry, even some...

How many miles did your Explorer ST have when you bought it?

470 Km. Bought it off the lot, it wasn't a virgin. Didn't bother me one little bit.

    SCT tuner

Lund, PBD, mostly went away from the SCT gear due to people taking their tunes from the SCT and ripping them with HP tuners and using the data as their own. They can lock their shit down with HP tuners. I am using the canned 91 tune for the X4 and it dropped my 0-60 time by 6/10ths of a...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Well, the mustang is a built motor single turbo 4.6, 17-18lbs of boost so very applicable. I do have much lower charge temps than most ecoboost combos but I don't have the benefit of direct injection with the mustang so it is a wash. I compare notes with a few of the local tuners and the...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Anything you can show me to back up that statement? I would agree that an ethanol blended 91 can be tuned to beat out straight 91 but not buying that the 87 with 10% ethanol would out perform it. Yes, ethanol is very effective for knock suppression but there are plenty of other methods that...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

As Lokiwolf said, I updated the tuner. I had updated the tuner recently on my laptop and then plugged it into my ST. It uploaded the tune over WiFi in my driveway and I flashed it. SCT has an 87, 91, and 93 octane tunes. I had 91 in the tank at the time so I used that tune. Next tank, I'll...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Results from the Canned 91 octane tune from SCT, loaded onto my X4 that I still had from my previous Ex Sport. Baseline on Friday was a 5.72 with a DA of 4328 ft. Slightly better DA today at 3021 ft. 0-60 was 5.14 (4.94 with a 1 ft rollout) So it was close to a 6/10ths improvement with the...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

My Dragy battery died and the road is now wet so I'll have to wait until tomorrow for 0-60 times with the canned tune. Baseline was a 5.72, DA was a lousy 4328ft. That seems to be as good as mine will do stock. I managed to get the SCT pre-load 91 octane tune to work. Before, it built...

Well that sucks, my build was January so we will see this evening.

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

I see SCT now has a pre-loaded tune for the ST available for their devices. I still have my X4 from my 2017 Ex Sport so I'll give it a try if the weather holds out this evening. I have a Dragy so we will see what it is worth in the real world.

    Snow Performance Stage 2.5

Well, since the two main components of windshield washer antifreeze are water and methanol, that should give you a good idea. For the mustang, I use a 50/50 mix as I can get a gallon of Methyl Hydrate, aka Methanol for $9.99/gallon at Canadian Tire and mix it with distilled or even Reverse...

Looks good on a silver one. Best part is only people that know these vehicles have a chance at spotting it.

    Whipple Intercooler

I used a BBQ/Wood stove flat black paint on the intercooler on my mustang's turbo kit. These paints are made to radiate heat rather than retain it like some engine paints or exhaust paints. Avoid paints with ceramics that are designed to retain heat (ie Header paint or coatings). IAT's...

    2020 Explorer ST Fuel Questions

That is a tough one as even the 91 octane has 20% ethanol. It should be safe with the stock tune but your mileage will suffer with that much ethanol. If it is tuned for it, E30 can be worth a decent amount of power.

    Whipple Intercooler

I was wondering more about the intercooler he had posted. But yeah, still very impressive with that few parts on it.
