I've got a Check Engine Light

Thank you. I replaced my purge valve today and this helped greatly. Saved me $700, that was the quote from dealership. Definitely tight quarters on the back half of this part. You must remain calm and be patient. Thanks again

...with it. Learning a lot from this forum to try and correct them. I’ve already ordered the stop start eliminator and replaced the evap purge valve that caused the car to fail to start after filling the tank. Now I need to tackle the USB not reading or charging my phone as well as the wireless...

2020 ST P0524 code Low oil pressure

...warranty is up by 3 months. Does anyone know where the oil pressure sensor is on this engine is located? Or perhaps it's worth taking to the dealer to have them fix it and have it documented. This was shortly after replacing the evap purge valve last month. Which was not fun due to the...

Check Engine - Evaporative Emission System

Mine was stalling after filling up the gas tank. Was the purge valve. Got it replaced two weeks ago. No more issues. Took forever to get the part ordered at the dealership. 6 weeks.

I've got a Check Engine Light

Thanks again for this, really helpful. I tackled this today using the same Dorman replacement, you can find them on ebay for around $50 -- PN# 994-073. Took me about 2 hours give or take. The tough part is getting the right angle on the back 2 connectors for sure, was definitely resting my...

I've got a Check Engine Light

My evap purge valve is stuck also, and just out of warranty period. Dealership want nearly $1k to replace it. Ridiculous, going to attempt myself!

I've got a Check Engine Light

The P0496 just popped up in my ST and it only has 19,700 miles on it. Good thing is, my three years is up this June. Considering the location. Maybe it is easier to drop it off and let them do it. However, I may attempt it. I hate leaving my baby at the dealership. The last time she was there...

    HELP WITH CODE P0456

I learned from my last vehicle, 2013 MKZ, overfilling at the gas pump causes this. Mine never had the check engine light but after some fill ups the engine would seem to stall at idle and would go back to normal after a short drive.

    HELP WITH CODE P0456

Purge valve needs to be replaced. I just had this done a few months ago. The dealership didn't keep the car, they just verified what needed to be replaced then ordered the part. I drove the car until the part came in With this code the car would take longer to start the immediately after...

    EVAP code

...thought I would update my initial post regarding the EVAP issue I was having. Here is the OBD reading - was P0496 code showing issue with purge valve circuit. When you put this in search engine the canister purge valve part shows up. As stated earlier 2 of the 4 connections are very...

    EVAP code

I don't think the evap purge valve is going to fix your issue. The purge valve is normally closed and the pcm turns it on to draw vapors from the fuel tank. If it were stuck open it would not allow pressure to build inside of the fuel tank and therefore you would not hear air pressure releasing...

    EVAP code

...code (which I clear with my OBD). Overall it runs ok but I do not want to go to dealer if this can be a simple fix. I purchased the EVAP purge valve (no diagrams online to show where it is) figuring that would rid the code and maybe the problem. Any ideas where it’s located (some say next to...

I've got a Check Engine Light

Good to know. On the other hand, myself being a competent operator of firearms, if this is how you use the flashlight you are just increasing unnecessary risks for a negligent discharge. I am sure you could have found something better to use.
