    Dealership Undercoating

Just take it elsewhere for undercoat. You’ll probably find it cheaper and better quality elsewhere. Krown, for instance. My dealer tried to push an undercoat on me and it was going to be a tar-like undercoat, but that stuff just plugs drain holes and creates more rust than it prevents (ask me...

What is one or two things Ford should/need to change on the 2021 ST?

Delete the capless fuel filler. Most infuriating thing I’ve ever used. Not so “Easy” when the pump stops 27 times during a fillup.

    Second row bench

One thing I’ve learned in all this - many dealership staff know nothing about their own product.

    Second row bench

Confirmed this morning that the outer seats are heated, the bench center segment is not.

    Second row bench

I’d have to check to be sure but my rear climate controls have heated seat buttons.

    Oil Life Monitor

It’s in the settings menu on the instrument cluster. You can also view it on your Fordpass app.

    Kite string did what!?

Just having another look at the pics, man that string actually gouged the plastic on the mirror and everything. Wow.

    Exterior Graphics/Stripes

What's the rule these days, 25 horsepower per stripe/per graphic? :-D

    Kite string did what!?

Yeah that would have been a damn good garrote wire had the car(s) not taken the hit. Ouch.

What is one or two things Ford should/need to change on the 2021 ST?

Jurassic Park trim package! Hahahaha. But on a more serious note, speeding up the lag between drive mode changes would be one; stopping driver assistance settings like pre-collision and reverse brake assist from defaulting to 'ON' every time the car is turned on would be another.

What did your Ford Explorer ST replace?

My old car (2009 Pont. G8 V6) meeting his successor a day before I took delivery.

    Settings defaulting

I have reached the conclusion that it will not stay off unless programmed out. Not sure if that’s something this Forscan everyone talks about can do. I will have to look into it; meanwhile, I have got the process down to a few seconds now so I’m not too bothered by it anymore. Had to do a couple...

    Settings defaulting

I found it to be very abrupt, so I prefer to operate without it. I’ve heard a few horror stories about the brakes applying when not needed. I don’t trust that kind of thing.

    Settings defaulting

The only issue I’m having is the settings reverting. Since they’re safety settings I’m starting to think they may not be the kind of settings that stay off permanently.

    Settings defaulting

Thanks, and I doubt it. I had the misfortune of a pandemic happening in the middle of it. If I hadn’t, it would have been right in line with the 8-12 weeks they said it would be.

    Settings defaulting

Hi everyone; Finally took delivery of my ST after a 6-month factory order wait. So far happy with it except for one issue, which is that the settings for Reverse Brake Assist and Assisted Braking for the pre-collision system keep defaulting back on every startup - in other words, I turn them...

    Your ST's pet name??

“Del”. Why, you may ask? Short for “Delayed”. I ordered him January 15th and only got him this past Monday. Stupid covid.

What did your Ford Explorer ST replace?

Only built in Chicago that I know of. But you’ll probably be alright now. I was told 8-12 weeks which would have landed right in the middle of April, but Covid added an 8-week delay so I’m GUESSING I might see it this month.

What did your Ford Explorer ST replace?

I was told the same, but that was before Covid hit. When did you order?
  20. KNTRDR

What did your Ford Explorer ST replace?

Nope. March 5th, sales guy tells me it’s “going into the production line”. Then Covid happened; now as of June 10th it was still in the production line. Don’t know much since then.
