    New wheels … new issues

You're right, you're no expert on this, sorry. The RPM has nothing to do with it. RPM is the same. Only difference is the actual distance traveled per revolution which is determined by the circumference of the tires. I'm not debating that you can clear the code- I'm debating the reason for...

    New wheels … new issues

With apologies to your Ford 'service manager', and as @l1tech posted above, unless Ford is using GPS as a verification mechanism to check GPS speed against expected speed, there isn't a mechanical way for it to "sense" that you put larger tires on the vehicle. Think of the sensors- there are...

    New wheels … new issues

Sometimes coincidence is weird. When I was younger, I once did an oil change on my manual transmission car. No big deal. Then went out for a ride. Everytime I got on it, the engine would rev, but it wouldn't take off. Long story short, the clutch had finally bit the dust. And yet, nothing...

Focal, Mosconi, Illusion and Helix build

At 1/8" thick, at least you don't have to worry about flex and putting your foot through those expensive speakers!

    New wheels … new issues

Educated guess here....I didn't think from your original post that your problem had anything to do with the tire diameter change. Unless you had significant differences (1/2" diameter) from front to rear, you shouldn't have seen anything from the AWD unit. Now that you're getting a slightly...

    2023 RWD Build

It looks like @PlatinumST has decided to get rid of his ride. I believe he has a brand-new Timberline 3.58 LSD rear diff and a 4 bolt subframe (IIRC). If you don't have the 4-bolt subframe, that might be a good upgrade, and the LSD rear diff would be an absolute must for a RWD ST IMHO...

Love my 2022 ST but why are so many publication reviews trashing the Explorer?

I still have less than 10k on mine! Haven't had a torn boot or flex pipe issue yet.

    New ST Owner, Bad Luck

These posts make my blood boil! Let's just say that an insurance company's customer service isn't how fast they write you a policy or cash your check. It's how they respond when you actually need the money. The best advice I can give people is do not buy from anyone who is willing to spend...

    Dream Car

Mine was red with black stripes. I also had a green with white stripes 70 W hardtop. I was doing restorations in the 80s, and had built up a good amount of Olds parts. My Dad worked for Olds in Lansing all his life.

    Dream Car

I owned that exact 1970 W-30 post coupe (not same color) many years ago. 1 of 252 with 4 speed and the only one with the super-rare W-27 aluminum rear 12-bolt diff only available in that year. I found it with an original 54k miles in garage in Portland, Or. I did a complete frame-off...

    6.0 Powerstroke IC Picture Heavy!

I've gotta say, I'm pretty impressed at the work you put into that. Nothing I appreciate more than a bit of innovation, improvisation, and fabrication. Good job!

    2022 Ford Explorer Platinum ST

Just FYI, for others out there- it is extremely difficult (read expensive) to build a street-able engine with over 200hp/liter on pump gas. Can it be done? Absolutely, but then you need much higher rev limits and/or fuels other than gasoline. It's easy to see that a 6.2 liter supercharged...

    2022 Ford Explorer Platinum ST

I'm not sure I've ever seen what your "power numbers" are- but I was enthusiastically watching your progress. I don't think it's any stretch to build a 600 HP ST on gasoline, although you did start with the Platinum. However, if you were looking for a lot more than that, it's hard to do with 3...

600 awhp on pump e85! Nostrum Stage 2 injectors are here!

If one is worried about custom fabrication work, I understand. But how about thinking about it in purely economic terms, or even in bragging terms? Let's agree that the cost for a tune and an intercooler are common and required. I can pretty much guarantee if one bought an exhaust...

600 awhp on pump e85! Nostrum Stage 2 injectors are here!

You could probably see around 500 WHP on the stock turbos on e85. You'd need the requisite fuel upgrades as well. I can't find it, but I'm pretty sure I saw one at 520.

600 awhp on pump e85! Nostrum Stage 2 injectors are here!

I doubt there is anything left in those turbos at that level.
