What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Ya I like the AFE in terms of the color and the mounting hardware looked good. For the strut tower bar I'll likely go aFe because the mounting points do not use a spacer but a properly formed bracket on both bolts.

I just ordered the aFe CONTROL rear bar. I look forward to installing it as I won't mind a bit less roll and a bit more turn in.

    Catch Can Worth It?

On a direct injected engine without additional port injection my opinion is yes. Heck, even with port you could argue, even without the worry of the back of valve cleanliness, you could gain from a cleaner intake air quality,

Thermal cat back... Weld or Clamp?

So far so good on mine being clamped. I checked all the clamps after its first cool down and they needed nearly nothing. After a couple weeks rechecked while cold and zero adjustment needed. Fingers crossed.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Dropped the oil again at 2579 miles. Will do again at 5K then 5K intervals thereafter. Jake Speed Jr. covers it here: I've always done 1k dump then 5K and every 5k thereafter but I added one additional after Jake made this video. So mine will look like this: 1,000 2,579 5,000 with filter...

Oil testing & too much info

Good to know! I look forward to Cobb supporting the '25 hopefully sometime soon.

Oil testing & too much info

I like to use oil temp to determine if it's time to hammer on it. Wish the ST had an oil temp read out.

Oil testing & too much info

You will want an oil with room to dilute and or sheer when running E. Funny every time I think of the best oil for any vehicle I am contemplating for it always boils down to Mobil 0W-40. That Mobil 5W-30 Euro is a good one as well.

Yep, even if you never tune would be a benefit. Just did mine.

    2025 CVFAB Intercooler installation Q/A.

I'm leaving the factory charge pipes as I'm not looking for maximum effort but a strong daily driver. Installed the CVF '25 cooler.

Sold my 2020 with all its issues, is the 2026 better?

Understood. A low mileage 2 yr old unit would be the way to buy them.

That is an odd one for sure! So the recent detail is a result of a renewed love after 4-5 weeks of arguing? :D
