    Transmission Shudder

Follow-up questions: Are you the original owner of the vehicle? Asking because the service manual says that solenoids are calibrated from the factory and replacements have to be set to the same settings or shifts will not be right. 2-wheel or all-wheel drive? AWD has a transfer case...

    Transmission Shudder

looqw, Good to hear that the fluid is fresh and the level is correct. Maybe the trans temperature (160 F) is due to a bad sensor. But fluid temperature seems like it should be alarmed (that is, a code would be set) if too cold or too hot. (I'll take a look for this in the service manual.)...

Welcome and, since you have some time before it arrives, now is a good time to order all the necessary ST parts. :devilish::D

JXB DIff Insert x Steeda’s Diff Brace

UNBROKEN, Thanks for the info. Until I started using urethane bushings, I did not know about silicone grease and Super Lube was recommended by one of the vendors so that is what I have been using. Super Lube greased bushings do need regreasing regularly, as you said. I figured this was...

JXB DIff Insert x Steeda’s Diff Brace

bnrodn, "Super Lube" silicone lubricating grease works well for urethane bushings. Do not use a multi-purpose grease - this type of grease is not silicone based and will ruin polyurethane bushings. You can buy the silicone grease it on Amazon (and other places). Recommend that you buy a...

Salvage Explorer - new to ST

Welcome from another new guy. You are a man with a plan. And, a man with some decent mechanical skills. Should be an interesting build.

Metallic rattle from rear passenger's wheel well.

SugarMouth, If you have a borescope (or a friend with one), it may be small enough diameter to fit down the gap in the two channels on the wheel well. I like your zip-tie method but seeing is believing (usually) so a borescope might show an offending piece of metal. Have you used compressed...

Metallic rattle from rear passenger's wheel well.

SugarMouth, That's some thorough work! At least you've narrowed down the location. It's maddening that the source of the rattle remains elusive - for now. I've seen a set of "mechanic's microphones" which would be placed on various parts in the rear PS wheel area that should go a long way...

know of a chrome oil catch can?

The J&L mounting bracket is anodized black so it decreases the bling factor of the clear-coated can. :D

Metallic rattle from rear passenger's wheel well.

I wonder if that joint needs (needed) seam sealer from the factory. Have you given that area (the wheel well, the panel on the well) the old light "palm strike"? Great detective work by you. Pretty frustrating to have a rattle on a low-mileage 2025. /edit/: Is there anything in those...

    Thermal R&D

Dpratt202, No, no, I'm not saying Thermal R&D was involved other than making an excellent product that you, 202FordRaptor, and Gadgtfreek have installed and heartily recommend, making the pressure for me to conform (bordering on coercion!?) and put a Thermal on my ST is very hard to resist. :D

    January Ford Experience Software Update

Thanks, Gadgtfreek, for the screenshot. I've never seen an update (well, we've only had the ST for 2.5 months) but I am hoping this one breaks our dry spell.

Dang, you guys all seem to be forcing me to spend more money! [cheers]

    Wobbly filler door

Jonquinn75, And another thing.... You might be able to reach the wobbly part once the wheel and wheel well liner are removed. Maybe there is a spring that has popped out of place, or, one side of the flat swing arm has popped out of the bracket.

    Wobbly filler door

Jonquinn75, Service Manual should help. Select "1. Body and Paint": then go to Body Enclosures (third bullet): then look through the three 'fuel filler door' links: The assembly tabs are hidden behind the weather shield and the instructions show cutting into four spots to allow a...

    Transmission Shudder

looqw, Is there anything loose under the vehicle like the trans mount, differential bushing, diff bushing bolt, etc.? As recommended, ask Gearhead if a datalog would help him diagnose the problem. The datalog should focus on the transmission - shifts, temperature, pressure, slip along...

    Auto Stop install

Black Label, I think forum member "iptaylm" and I got the same brand. That would be Autostop Eliminator (autostopeliminator.com) and I got the "no charging pad" version. //edit: Your Aviator ASE part: link for ASE for 2020 to 2024 Aviator end of edit// I am delighted with the device. I...

    Reset Infotainment System 2025

Doom Crew, Owner's Manual has two methods: Press the on/off button quickly 5 times, or, Hold the on/off button for 10 seconds. Try the first option since you tried the second option. Also, try doing this with the engine running (although just having the screen on (engine not running)...

Updating sync to the latest version of a home Wi-Fi

iptaylm, Same as mine. That is the latest Android update. The infotainment system also updates from time to time. The only message I get when I try to update is "No updates in the last 90 days". I guess that's OK.
