Anyone able to explain what’s going on here / how I fix this.. cannot launch for a stop or go WOT 1-2 or 2-3 without this happening. https://youtube.com/shorts/1sJSbRqhbKQ?si=AYDtPVinYTMXStdI - Gearhead tune but did it stock too - fresh trans fluid and filter (did it before also) - no codes - shifts fine through the rest of the gears and 1-2, 2-3 when driving normal. - I can never get trans temp past around 160 after driving for a long period of time even. - clunky going into park?

Check your transmission fluid level, it still could be low. Should be around 2.5-3 dots on the dipstick. COntact your tuner too.

I actually just watched the video sorry, didnt click on it. That is something definetly very wrong with your car. I’d contact your tuner immediately and take the car to the shop. Yikes.

looqw,

Is there anything loose under the vehicle like the trans mount, differential bushing, diff bushing bolt, etc.?

As recommended, ask Gearhead if a datalog would help him diagnose the problem. The datalog should focus on the transmission - shifts, temperature, pressure, slip along with operating info like load, throttle position, commanded torque, spark, etc. A review of the datalog will show if there is excessive slip or low pressure. Of course, if you feel it is best to get to your local shop quick then they can review the datalog, too, which should help them get to the root cause.

The Service Manual has a troubleshooting section for the transmission but it is a little beyond what most of us weekend wrenchers can tackle. It's good reading anyway.

To add more detail since this.

I can confirm it does the same on the stock tune, most time will not do it in normal mode at all, and then still does it in sport mode just less aggressively than this with the tune.

I can confirm the brand new fluid is at mark 3 on the dipstick at operating temp

It also does this sometimes taking off from a stop in forwards or reverse. It will as if it is in neutral and then shudder roughly and then jolt forward or reverse as if something finally catches and it goes. Feels like rumble strips and then all of a sudden getting rear ended to try and describe it..
or as if there is say air bubbles in the fluid so the solenoid is receive pressure and losing it rapidly until they pass? I’m really not sure it’s making. I sense.

lastly one time when in reverse it was doing the thing as if it had no gears and then catching it did give the codes:
P0751 (Shift Solenoid A Performance/Stuck Off)
P2700 (Transmission Friction Element "A" Apply Time Range/Performance)

looqw,

Good to hear that the fluid is fresh and the level is correct.

Maybe the trans temperature (160 F) is due to a bad sensor. But fluid temperature seems like it should be alarmed (that is, a code would be set) if too cold or too hot. (I'll take a look for this in the service manual.)

//edit:
Yes, there is a TFT (temperature sensor) in the transmisison and failure will post a DTC.
end of edit//

Your description of a pressure problem perhaps caused by a sticky solenoid (code) may be the root cause but there may be additional issues. "2020FordRaptor" gave the best advice: to the shop! Proper testing (that is, hooking up the trans to the proper instrument(s)) will allow a look at operating conditions along with the movement of the solenoids through the shifts. On the bright side, this shudder issue is one that can be reproduced so a good technician should be able to collect and review the data and make a diagnosis pretty quickly. At least then you will know the root cause and know your options.

Follow-up questions:

Are you the original owner of the vehicle?
Asking because the service manual says that solenoids are calibrated from the factory and replacements have to be set to the same settings or shifts will not be right.

2-wheel or all-wheel drive?
AWD has a transfer case that has a clutch and I'm thinking that AWD is applied for WOT shifts. Maybe the transfer case is causing the shudder?

The AWD module in the 2020s had some grounding issue. Not sure if this is applicable to your ST but there are a few threads here that you might peruse at to see if the ground issue applies. Not sure if Ford had a TSB for the grounding issue.
