Wobbly filler door

Hi
The gas filler door on my 22 ST has started to wobble. Seems ford only sell the entire filler assembly. Has anyone remove and replaced and has any tips. I would put my skill level at moderate!

When you say it wobbles, is it the arm where it attached to the vehicle that has movement?
Ebay has a number of complete doors for sale from about 45 to 60 bucks.

Yes is the bar that wobbles, more I can’t work out how to access it

Service Manual should help.

Select "1. Body and Paint":


then go to Body Enclosures (third bullet):


then look through the three 'fuel filler door' links:


The assembly tabs are hidden behind the weather shield and the instructions show cutting into four spots to allow a screwdriver to be used to push the tabs and free the assembly.

HTH and good luck fixing the wobble. (Pretty sure you need the assembly, as others have mentioned.)

And another thing....

You might be able to reach the wobbly part once the wheel and wheel well liner are removed. Maybe there is a spring that has popped out of place, or, one side of the flat swing arm has popped out of the bracket.
