Remote features disabled to preserve battery

Did not even know this was a thing, thanks. Found this BTW: To reset the battery monitor on any Ford product: 1. Make sure all windows & doors are closed. 2. Turn ignition switch to on (don't start car). Wait 10 seconds. 3. Flash highbeams 5 times using the "flash to pass" stalk on the side...

Remote features disabled to preserve battery

Usually, it’s the battery—but that’s way too early for one to fail. Have a parts store do a quick test just to be sure. If it’s not the battery, it might be warranty time. I’m assuming it’s still covered under 12k miles, right? Those AGMs are great, but they seem to die early or last forever—no...

Um, sure, that's still not the correct answer. When you order something, whether custom or not, the person selling it to you should offer a reliable timeframe; if they cannot, they need to do better. Double the lead time of what was given, IF TRUE, is not cool. OP sent money expecting a month...

And as I said, I'm not saying that's the case. But if you order something, and the guy says 3 weeks, and at 7 you don't have shit, it's a problem. I couldn't care less that everyone calls him by his first name, that doesn't mean anything. People are reliable, until they aren't. I'd like to hear...

I feel, all things being accurate, 3-4 weeks isn't 7 weeks. So I'd expect someone to be pissed. We've all seen/read about the forum favorite part shop that one day goes tits up and people get screwed. Not saying that's the case, but paranoia can set it in. Or there is the situation where you had...

I work in logistics for a two-billion-dollar company—I’m literally the tip of the spear. So I get delays and have to explain them to the receivers. If someone says 3–4 weeks and it ends up taking 7, that’s on them. That said, I also know there’s usually more to the story behind the scenes, and I...

They are updating the oil drain plug at parts department

I ran into a lot of maybe an echo chamber where it's "change every time", but as I read more, I don't see where that is the case. Seems to happen a lot on auto stuff, and politics.

They are updating the oil drain plug at parts department

I guess I'll leave it to the shop to decide. Not sure what made them change it at the 48k mile mark on my Edge, but I wasn't leaking oil in the driveway. They see enough of them day in and out, and they are very particular about fords and won't service certain things anyway; therefore, they have...

They are updating the oil drain plug at parts department

I've been reading up on them for the last hour. Seems like it holds up well. I do remember in, probably eight oil changes, the local shop did charge me for one on my Edge ST. So they must have seen something to replace it that particular time.

They are updating the oil drain plug at parts department

OK. I haven't seen that on an oil change charge, so it makes me wonder are shops not putting a new one in every time.

They are updating the oil drain plug at parts department

Can someone give me the CliffsNotes on this? I do not know much about this part, but I've seen a lot of complaints. I let a local tire and brake shop do my oil changes (very reputable shop), so I'm not up to speed on these composite drain pans and plugs.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

No, my photo is exactly how it was. I just made sure the bracket and the coolant line elbow have about a 1/8-1/4" gap, and then tightened the hell out of the frame bolt.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Perfect, thanks. I tried going over the one line, but that wasn't happening (right by the PCV). So I went under and it barely made it lol. The only issue, is one day changing the PCV, but thats a few years away if then.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Catch can. I think the PCV valve line might be a bit too short—I barely managed to clip it in. I’m going to send them a photo and ask about it; maybe it was cut just a little short during manufacturing. Other than that, I’m curious to see what it looks like after a couple thousand miles. Nice...

Per Ford, No future upgrades to Bluecruise

OK, so I did some research — the 2026 model gets auto lane change. Personally (and maybe I have trust issues), I’m fine without it. I actually like having control and just bumping the blinker stalk to change lanes. You don’t even have to press it all the way to lock it in blink, just the three...

    Weird miles to the gallon

This one is definitely more reactive than what I’ve seen in other models. In the past, the range estimate seemed to be based more on your average from the last fill-up, but this one adjusts constantly based on current driving. That’s fine—it actually seems to do its job pretty well. When I first...

Per Ford, No future upgrades to Bluecruise

It really works well. It keeps me sane in daily traffic. My 2019 edge wasn’t near as smooth braking and following. This thing is great.

Per Ford, No future upgrades to Bluecruise

I guess I still don’t understand what else it does? I went into this thinking it didn’t do self lane change but it does which is was gladly surprised it. I mean I guess it doesn’t turn the blinker itself, but once you bump it it keeps the blinker on until it finishes the change. And it drives...

Per Ford, No future upgrades to Bluecruise

I've only used it once, but it was about 75 miles on I-20/59 in north Miss and Alabama. It worked fine. I set it at 80, and use the blinker to auto-change lanes. What else does it need to do, or is it missing? I use the adaptive stop and go cruise daily on my way home, due to crappy traffic, and...
