the difference is body size and cell count. FenFab uses a smaller 300 cell cat that may or may not need defoulers installed. No big deal for most people. SPD uses a larger 400 cell cat that won’t need anything.

Just take the clips off and lift up the plastic cover. Kind of a pain but not horrible.

XS Power D4800 on the way to replace the stock battery. I think the oem 220amp alternator should suffice for now.

OD is roughly the same but the weight of the wheel hoop is further out. You still get most of the unsprung weight benefits like you mention with handling and such but the acceleration benefits aren’t as great. I went through the same thing…78.8lb 21’s to 63.3lb 22’s…and not I’ve added run flat...

Depends on how you wire the NAV. It has RCA outputs as well…off the top of my head I don’t remember how many. An optical signal into a DSP can run whatever you want. I only need 8 channels so I bought the DSP that I need for this install. If I ever want to expand the system I could swap DSP’s...

Right…it plugs into the factory wiring and gets rid of the amps and all that. From the NAV unit I’ll do optical into the DSP…it’s a cleaner signal and saved me a couple hundred for 4 more RCA’s.

It’s a bit of a double edge sword though…even though you lost weight which is good, you moved the weight you have to the outside of the wheel…which is bad. I don’t know of a way to calculate the actual benefit but it’s smaller than weight loss alone.

They’ll still be slower. Weight and rear axle ratio will make the difference.
