    Charge Pipes

Calculating 3.41 sq in to sq mm equals about a 52mm internal diameter in circular diameter which would be around 430 cfm. If anyone read my throttle body thread: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/throttle-bodies-cfm-and-mass-airflow.3163/post-39192 Enough for our engines, but marginal...

    Charge Pipes

We're talking about the cold side (intercooler out) to the stock throttle body silicone adapter right? I haven't taken mine off, but any estimate of the "tiny crimped bend" cross-sectional area?

    Best wheels for the buck....

You're probably fine if you're just concerned with "looks", but there's a reason your "shop guys" are not fans. Neither am I.

    Best wheels for the buck....

Just to weigh in on this....any type of hub spacer will put more load on the wheel bearings as you're altering the leverage of the wheel which will magnify the torque on the bearings when cornering. Now, in all likelihood, that's probably not a big concern if you're not road racing (you're...

Valve exhaust systems is need or not?

You might be able to replace your midpipe section with the one from the MRT Interceptor. It has a helmholtz resonator built into the mid pipe. Take a look: https://www.shopmrt.com/2020-Explorer-MRT-Interceptor-Cat-back-90R229-p/90r229.htm

Awesome Android box for Wireless carplay & Android Auto

You may be right, but Ford definitely knows how to differentiate the market and has a lot of data on customers and competitors. It probably comes down to marketing and age of drivers. An older, more well-heeled crowd that will buy the explorer is a different market from a younger group that...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Love the hood! Is it functional? (Vented?)

FordPass not connecting, modem not working

I'm going to count myself extremely lucky. I've documented having a couple of intermittent electrical gremlins- lights staying on (once), liftgate opening halfway, (twice) and once the liftgate opening when I shut the driver's door. But two years now and not a single other issue.

New Member to the I'm Having Trouble with My ST Club

I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this scenario, but I will say there are definitely electrical gremlins in these vehicles. I've had no mechanical issues, but occasionally the tailgate will only go halfway up. On a couple of occasions, the headlights haven't shutdown (in auto mode)...

Valve exhaust systems is need or not?

Why stop there? Dual 3.5" custom exhaust would be even better, right? Especially with double X pipe. If you want to spend 2 grand to gain no horsepower, you need to look at Ersatz Bros tuning products here: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/jk-performance-products.2906/post-36551

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

I'm not an audiophile, but I'm curious. Your posts have mentioned volume being something you've measured. Is there some connection between the diameter of the woofer and the volume you need behind them for best sound?

    Air Conditioning.

If the fan speed was completely automatic, there would be whinging about it not being adjustable! "It's too slow, it's too fast, Ford tried to save a buck, why can't it be adjustable?." It's not like pressing a button is that difficult....is it?

    Octane Boost?

Most octane boosters are based on toluene (or xylene) and MMT- a different product than the lead used in the olden days, but I wouldn't run it in my vehicle on a long term basis. It's just not a viable option for catalytic converters long-term. Not to mention, how are you going to truly...

    Hello all from Montana!

First that comes to mind is a possible pebble between rotor and brake pad. Look for scoring on the rotor.

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

I have a little experience with making custom parts and followed unbroken's A-pillar speaker mounts with interest. His workmanship is excellent, however I think if you look at building small custom parts that don't require aircraft strength, it's easier to use polyurethane foam. They can be...

Error Code during launch - post tune

If you got into wheel hop and let off, it could definitely throw an overboost code. Next, I'd check the diffy stiffy and see if the slotted mounting holes show movement.

    Ebay splash guard review

It's somewhat gratifying to see that those transitions in the exhaust and aero disproves that all Asians are better at math. And a bit terrifying....

    Ebay splash guard review

Thanks, missed that in reading the posts. Sadly, I just can imagine anything that would help unless you added bodywork that somehow extended the rear transition by a couple of feet or more! Thank goodness for a rear wiper/washer.

    ST - Storm Trooper Build

I have no doubt Adam knows what he's talking about- certainly once you're tuned he can probably tweak some things to net you more hp. All I'm saying is that temps have a much bigger role as you noted in post #400. I would also expect that if the air filter was reducing the pressure drop, this...

    ST - Storm Trooper Build

The pressure drop would be roughly proportional to the mass airflow. Just an airbox (or even just remove the filter) will not add 30hp to a stock engine. No way. As far as tuning, a COMPLETELY stock ST with a good tune will add 90+ hp on gasoline. So adding a tune is apples/oranges. Don't...
