Has anyone done an Intercooler Comparison?

Not picking on you, but the most relevant info in that comparison are required modifications (as you suggest), and the price! In reality, surface area and volume are completely irrelevant in an intercooler comparison. A true measurement of each would require a highly controlled environment to...

    Steeda Front Sway Bar

If you just want an opinion, due to the amount of engineering and testing, I'd buy the complete bars and shocks for the PIU. If I wanted it lowered, I'd buy the Steeda components.

Has anyone done an Intercooler Comparison?

I can appreciate someone putting this info together, but it's in no way a scientific comparison. I'm more than a bit skeptical of those specs, and what they mean. For example, how is volume measured? The only practical way would be to buy each intercooler and measure via liquid the actual...

    Steeda Front Sway Bar

You have to look at the suspension as a system. The engineers also are trying to satisfy the masses (as @jrgoffin ) says, but the bars are not the only component. The shock valving also plays a part in the response rate of the suspension; no one seems to be mentioning that. One can't just...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

It doesn't work until the engine reaches operating temp. It also won't work if the battery is low, or the oil life is low. Could it be any of those?

Backfire and car sounds like its struggling to get gas through exhaust

An exhaust leak can definitely lead to backfires, especially under deceleration. Check all the fasteners on the exhaust system, see if you can hear any audible sounds from the joints at idle. Probably not the A/F ratio or misfires as I would expect DTCs.

Backfire and car sounds like its struggling to get gas through exhaust

I think you need to restate the problem in words that can be understood. I don't know how a car sounds when it's "struggling to get gas through". As far as "it was breathing but every 3 seconds it would sound like the battery would die from the rear" I can only say "what?". This sounds more...

Att tech's misfire issue bank to bank

No one called you a "punk", and you're right, I don't know anything about you- other than you're not willing to listen. I know the very first thing I do when someone tries to help me is that I ignore their advice, become defensive, and reject anything that doesn't fit my own narrative about the...

Att tech's misfire issue bank to bank

Generally speaking, for purposes of misfire, the crank sensor is used to sense out-of-range angular momentum changes. This allows the ECU to detect individual cylinder misfires (depending on the granularity of the crank position sensor). From what the OP has written, the ECU is not narrowing it...

Att tech's misfire issue bank to bank

You seem to be convinced that it's boost related. Why is that? I can't see that as the issue since the same amount of boost is being produced at lower load levels and yet you're not seeing the problem occur there according to you. You also had a tune on it, and then removed the tune. What...

Audio system working but no sound.

Does the NAV still function, or does it show a symbol (circle with a slash through it)?

Audio system working but no sound.

I had this exact same thing happen on my ST. Just before the battery went completely dead and locked me out. Resets did not solve the problem. On mine, the NAV also quit functioning.

    Other turbo upgrade options?

To be clear, my "yep" was in response to the airbox comment.

    Other turbo upgrade options?

@jwuonog This has been discussed. Any larger frame turbos are going to change the centerline of the turbine outlet and compressor inlet relative to the head. Especially since you would have to fab a v-band or T3 adapter. That means fabrication of downpipes, intake pipes, and hot side outlets...

are you guys wet? or dry on AFE intake setups?

One can actually create (and it was done in the past, cuz very little is truly new), an effective air filter with a miniscule pressure drop. The concept is to use the velocity of the air traveling through an arc. The circumference (outside area) of the arc being a "wick" embedded with oil...

are you guys wet? or dry on AFE intake setups?

Think about this for a second. If you're just talking pressure drop, the only thing that matters about air filters is the surface area (bigger = better), and porosity (more = better). So given a filter of a certain size, how can a filter be less restrictive? The answer is that it must be more...

    Transmission Issues?

I sometimes do not understand some of these posts. Someone likes "sport mode" because it delays shifts, holds gears longer, and provides faster accelerator modulation. I get it, it's more fun. However, it's a friggin' algorithm, handled by software. It's not a mind reader, and therefore it's...

    Steeda or aFe Sway-Bar?

Whether you realize it or not, your attitude comes through loud and clear from your posts....as exemplified by your last post! You say you're 72? Perhaps I'm not the one who needs to "Grow up". lol.
