    Engineering Test Mode

I use it to set the bias of the Average Fuel Economy, making the computer not lie about mileage (it's surprisingly dead-on for three tanks now). On my Mustang, I changed the ambient color scheme for the instruments. There are other settings you can adjust.

    No GPS symbol

My Limited did this often (plus many other electronic antics). The ACM finally failed. Since it apparently was most anxious to become a "hangar queen", I traded it on the ST.

You have to start it and let it run.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I had a mouth-breather try to pass me into oncoming traffic on a double-yellow. I nudged the right pedal and he changed his mind.

    Adjustable foot petals

We had those on my wife's 300C. I don't think we ever actually used them.

    New recall?

No worries (I guess :D). The dealer didn't know about part availability, either. Jeez, Ford. How can it be cheaper to fix than to do right?

    New recall?

    What's the recall #?

    New recall?

The dealer told me there's a VIN-specific recall for the exhaust. A flange for the driver's side CAT can develop a crack, allowing untreated exhaust into the atmosphere. No more details. I can't tell if mine is in the group. It involves replacing the CAT, several clamps and some gaskets.

Finally got it back. They had to replace the SODR ("Solid Object Detection Receiver") on the starboard quarter. Replaced "part # 14C689". No more sensor failures and it only took two weeks.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Bad news: The starboard side blind spot radar module has failed, possibly due to water intrusion. Good news: Part ordered, should be in tomorrow!! :D At least it isn't a three-month wait for the part. On a related note, the ST did great towing the trailer & mower around last weekend. According...

    Under Hood Light

I've not seen a car with an under-hood light in decades. Dodge trucks have it as an option, but I know of none that have it.

    Hood safety latch

Redlines here, on both Explorers, the Mustang and the Speed 3. I've become accustomed to the double-pull of the hood release. With the hood struts and no under-hood release, lifting the hood is one-handed.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Took it to the shop last Wednesday for a broken mirror control switch and the cross-traffic, blind spot and reverse brake assist systems having a panic attack on every start-up. All seemed to work, just the warnings went off. Anyway, the dealer just called - the mirror switch is fixed, but the...

    Center wheel caps

That's weird. I pretty much thought the bore was the same, like the bolt spacing.

    Great MPG Thread

I'm grateful my daughter got to know her great-grandmother as a vibrant person, not some old lady to sits in a corner and gets ignored.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Another day at the dealer - Called 8/2 for an appointment to get the mirror switch looked at and multiple warnings about the cross-traffic, backup assist, blind-spot monitoring. Appointment set for 8/24 at 0800. Showed up at 0800 - no record of the appointment. Not the first time they've "lost"...

30 minutes at a rest stop?! :) Man, our "rest stops" are < ten minutes. Probably more like eight.

    Oil change schedule

My last was @ 15,400. We put 2,600 on a road-trip in July, so the next change is @ 22K. I could probably do more (the oil on the stick is clear). In normal commute mode, I'll change it @ 6K. Even that will take nearly a year.
