    Ugh! First Speeding Ticket

Man, 27 over in Florida is automatic jail. My last ticket was in 2010 54 in a 45 $130. Before that, in 2006 87 in a 70 $187. When I bought this ST, my wife said, "Your heavy foot and a red car. What can go wrong?"

    Chime Change

You can turn that off with the buttons on the wheel. You can also set it to gently tug the wheel.

    CV DOWNPIPES INSTALL

If I have this done, I'll just drive it down there and wait. I'm close enough to make that worthwhile. I bet it's a b!tch to do, though.

Used it to fetch a replacement water heater. Got the unit on its platform last night, connected to water and gas this morning. I can't stand cold showers. :D

Boggles my mind that people put up with that BS. Are there no real taxpayers in CA anymore?

    Hyperflash?

Good question. I'll have to try noticing if the DRLs work the same on a LE vehicle.

    Hyperflash?

Those are the DRLs, not the head lights. The computer turns the DRL off on that side to make the turn signal more visible

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I know the rotation had never been done right; I had to clean up and paint touch-up some curb rash - only on the right-side wheels. I meant to mark the destination of each wheel with stickers, but I forgot. I had to watch closely while the rotation was taking place. I was also disappointed in...

Oil/filter change & tire rotate. Now I'm good for a year. Man, I sure get some head-scratching by insisting the tires get rotated according to the book. Discount Tire ran me off by insisting it was front-to-rear, rear-to-front. Uh, NO!!

What did everyone buy this week?

Winchester SPX 12 ga. pump, Ruger LCP Max .380 ACP. As for the car, it didn't even need gas. ;)

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I got some kind of bug in late October, '19. If it was Covid, it was quite uncomfortable for about 36 hours. Late spring of '20 I fell for the vaccination warning (mistaken impression you had to be vaxxed to fly). No ailments until winter of '22. Tested positive for Covid, but it never became...

    Regular or Premium

We're back to a $0.20 difference at Costco. Last summer it was $0.50. Still, 87 is more than adequate for my commute. We were going on a road-trip to Pensacola to visit the NAS Pensacola Air Museum, but apparently the base is closed to taxpayers for a while. Even that journey would only use a...

    Regular or Premium

Here, 93 on interstate trips, 87 on the eight-mile, twenty minute commute. Fuel-cost-per-mile is a bit better on 87. It got 26.4 on the interstate in July (avg 24.2). The commute is averaging a bit over 20.

    Real world mpg

Unless you've adjusted the "AFE" setting, you can deduct about 10% from that.

    Real world mpg

Not unless you mat the loud pedal all the time. My average is a bit over 20, summoning the warp drive only as needed. I have an easy commute though, few stops and average 50-55.

    Oil Life Monitor

500 miles in three weeks is the same as I drive. The oil was changed when I bought it in June. The oil life is currently at 43%. That does include a 2,600 mile road-trip in July. That stretched it out, of course.
