Tough to put PPF on the hood if you don't. Fortunately they come off easy with some heat and fishing line.

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

Agree. The only MDF is the ring and I basically filled it and dumped it out within 10 seconds and put it in front of the heater to keep it from soaking up water. I have Baltic Birch for the other parts of the build but no router to cut my own ring. On a side note, I am seriously thinking...

    20" aftermarket wheel thoughts?

I hear yah. Thin sidewalls, expensive wheels, and shitty roads is a lousy combination.

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

Well....I just tried to fill with 6.4 gallons of water which according to my calculations is the exact amount I need for the TW5V2. It fit with some room to spare. Maybe a qt or two extra space. I was very surprised. Now I think I'm going to test fit in the location to see if the trim panel...

    20" aftermarket wheel thoughts?

Depends on the look and ride you are going for. Definitely lose some comfort with 22's and a shorter sidewall but I really like the look. Don't see why your combo wouldn't work, depending on what you are after.

Support with picking up 2022 Explorer

I'm leaning that way too. Before I sold my business my new cars would go straight to him for paint correction, ceramic, and PPF. PPF has saved my ass many many times. Now that I'm paying out of my own pocket I am doing the ceramic myself but will pay for PPF. Besides, I stripped the EXPLORER...

Nice. I did tint on day 3 and did my own paint correction and ceramic on weekend one.

    Hello all from Montana!

Welcome. Agree on the possible pebble. Hit your brakes hard from around 60mph to 20 a few times in a row. This will help cook off any bedding material and possibly the impediment if there is one. BE CAREFUL as your brakes should and will fade bad towards the end of your few hard stops...

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

Could not agree more. Frustrating when you take your first attempt or two and you don't really know what you're doing, but ultimately very satisfying once you figer out what you screwed up and get it right! Went to fill it an hour ago. It's going to be close but I had a few holes that were...

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

I don't think it will be significantly smaller but I am starting to think it will not be big enough as well. Last night I ordered some more epoxy and stranded mat as the doubt crept in. I should be able to fill it with water tonight to see where I'm at. Good news it I have no doubt the second...

    Air Conditioning.

So it’s kind of auto. That is a stupid design imo. You should set the temp and the system should take care of it. Now that I know this I will be more observant to the hvac operation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Congrats. The more I drive mine, the more I like it!

    Air Conditioning.

I don't know if that is normal but I find i set the auto temp about 4 degrees colder than I have in my GM vehicles for the past 18 years. Once I figured that out it seems to works normally. Make sure you have it set for auto temp control when using remote start. Mine is usually pretty toasty...

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

Well I got the ring positioned and I'm pretty sure it will fit with the panel on. Now for some fleece and fiberglass. Then I have to see how much volume I end up with. I'm afraid I may have had to trim a bit too much too get it to fit, might have lost too much volume. Trying to make up for a...

13" sub in factory location and rest of stereo upgrade

Funny you should say that. I have my final fitment tonight where I am installing the box I and dowelling in the speaker ring so i can test the fit with the trim cover. If it fits with minimal trimming I will use it. If it just doesn't fit I will start over and build a better support structure...

    Reconsidering Explorer ST

Yes, hoping changes made their way into my 22. Only 1300 miles but so far it shifts pretty darn nice and I haven't loaded my tune yet.

Car Porn ! Awesome Pictures !

Here's another car of mine. Did a complete restoration/restomod myself over 5 years. I did have somebody else spray the base and top coats. 66

Thanks for that. Sounds more like a part or installation defect which is better than a design defect IMO.

    Reconsidering Explorer ST

This is correct. The 10R60 is a lighter duty and more importantly more fuel efficient transmission. I believe that it is actually an excellent transmission for any stock explorer since they seem to have the kinks worked out. The problem is it seems it's power limit is right at the stock power...
