Best tires and rim size for racing

What do you think about high speed stability (i.e. taking corners at 150mph+)? Top speed is aerodynamically limited to 170mph until I can get a functional front splitter installed so I was thinking it would be beneficial to have slightly smaller wheels. It can definitely hit 180mph+, but the...

SLD 21" Stock Rims Free to a Good Home (Atlanta Metro)

Yes, I use a 3rd party called https://rktship.rocksolidinternet.com usually 10-20% less than standard UPS/FedEx/USPS pricing. USPS is charged up front but FedEx and UPS are billed after it's weighed in their system and updated. They will upcharge or lower the cost if the dimensions and weights...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Definitely a concern, I asked ZFG for advice and will report back. Seems like updating the wheel size through Forscan or SCT will help. Mainly concerned about the ABS performance assuming that ZFG tuning can solve the engine RPM issue even if updating the wheel size via Forscan doesn't help...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Very much agree, the 295/40/r20 I have on my ST's 20x10's +35mm saved my rims more than once. Driving with the R888R's will be significantly more stressful but the feeling of yeeting into a corner will be priceless. I have had a few year's of experience running 245/40ZR20 on 20x9 up front and...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Really appreciate that info . I was having a hard time finding that information in the forum. The 305/35/zr20 R888R should work fine on a 20x10.5.

Best tires and rim size for racing

$2,000 every 5000 miles would be ideal for weekend usage. This would be cut short to 250-500 miles on the track, so a compromise between those two numbers. For wheels, forged magnesium monoblock seem like the best value, carbon fiber seemed like they would be the best, but it was surprising to...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Greetings everyone, There are significantly more choices available for 20 in. rims that would vastly improve the skidpad performance of the ST (i.e. Toyo R888R, Nitto NT01, Falken Azenis RT660 only go up to 20 in.). A few sizes of the aforementioned tires are on the borderline of the load...

FenFAB oil pan initial test results.

Awesome! Please keep us updated I can't understand why they didn't make a larger oil pan from the factory. 6-6.5 quarts is way too small for an engine making 400hp / 415lbs...

Amazing! Can't wait to see how she performs.

    22” Wheels??

That likely stems from a different issue unrelated to alignment. I had my car aligned a few times and it keeps pulling to the right, mechanic said it wasn't worth fixing because the chassis was lightly bent from a well-covered up fender bender.

    Explorer ST and theft

Was wondering the same... Based on the current information in the forums, it seems very difficult to steal an Explorer ST. Besides the club, are there any other tricks we can use to slow down thieves?

New Member starting my research !!

Welcome Gloria! The St is an amazing value with an incredible amount of aftermarket support. The quickest way to big power is an intercooler and a ZFG racing tune. A rear differential brace is a must for launches, and there are several other modifications you can do to beef up the drivetrain...

Diffy Stiffy fenfab explorer install SOLVED - Do not use the nuts provided.

Definitely go with Steeda for a 1-bolt. I was lucky to get a 2-bolt subframe.

Diffy Stiffy fenfab explorer install SOLVED - Do not use the nuts provided.

I'd have to ask Brett for that one. It must have been a serious thrashing to snap a diffy brace.

Diffy Stiffy fenfab explorer install SOLVED - Do not use the nuts provided.

Oh ok, thanks for the correction. I'm surprised Kevin didn't install both on my build when he was making 707hp. Brett & Kevin must have been confident with one brace.
