I order on July 1 2021. However, my newest eta was updated to July 26, 2022. How frustrating…….

Wow, I order on 9/21. My status changed today to shipped. Not holding my breath.
Yesterday, I found almost the identical ST, color, and opts. So I called dealer and he said It was available...YES! 3 hours away here I come. I will call you back with a price. He called back and said he couldn't sell it because it has a recall on it. :( Man.. so unfair.

Digging back through the posts on this long thread....I found the posts about United Road. I went there, put in my VIN....got a LOAD number. Also saw that WHEN it finally gets to my dealer, the BLUE name of my dealer listed in destination would become a link with more info. Pretty sure many on here already know this stuff, but I didn't. Then.....I dug through more threads and found out about registering my email (with the phone "trick"). That let me log into V-LMS. It associated my email with my dealer. I saw TODAY....he got 2 Ford Broncos delivered and their VINs (and boy, was HE SURPRISED...when I called him and told him I can now see that kind of info!). I also was able to see my VIN on a search. I now know (not surprisingly), mine will go by railroad (damn....I was hoping that wouldn't happen)......from Chicago to Birmingham (actually, McCalla....a suburb of B'ham). From there it will go by truck to my dealer. What I don't know....still....of course, is WHEN will it finally ship. The status on the the V-LMS site says my order is "inactive". Probably because....duh.....Ford still hasn't made any effort to ship it. So yes, this is much more info. But still doesn't tell me the REAL issue....when will Ford finally ship a car that got built back on 14 March...over TWO MONTHS AGO? WHEN THEY FINALLY DO....some "decade", I'll know most likely....because I suspect United Road and V-LMS probably keep their info on their sites much more correct than Ford does their tracking site? That's my educated guess anyway.

So now I know HOW it will get here. I just .....STILL.....don't know.......the when the journey will even begin.............

was it the one you had ordered, or one on the lot? Last week you said the one on order was in production I thought?
This is not the one I ordered - another dealer just did the recall notice (software update) and called me up to see if I was still interested. Minus the mudflaps, it has all other options as the one I had on order, which has been stuck in 'production' for weeks.

you can order the mudflaps and have them installed (or likely do it yourself)? I have the mudflaps ordered on mine, and it shows that is dealer installed.

Thanks man - I ordered them from the dealer parts store and going back in a few days to have them installed. I could do it myself, but would much rather the dealer since i'll be up there to pick them up anyway :)

Good news for you! Ford still doesn't want my money for that car built back on 14 March. So I did a Durango R/T build today with local Dodge dealer. They swear it will come in NLT end of June and maybe much sooner. So now, it's whoever gets off their butt and gets a car here first. Ford....who started "the race" on 8 January.....or Dodge....who started the race today (17 May). My money is on Dodge................

I can't believe after being a Ford man for over 30 years.....I'm actually probably going to buy a Dodge SUV. But apparently, my money isn't green enough for Ford? i need a vehicle...............

I totally understand the frustration, as the one I had held was dealer ordered Feb 9 with no end in sight. I will also say post recall... having the Parking Brake ALWAYS engaged when shifting out of Park is annoying AF, but it is what it is. To be fair the supply chain shortage has wreaked havoc and the economic downturn has made labor and sourcing that much more challenging. It's no excuse for Ford, but we are all buying during sub-optimal times and I take it all with a grain of salt. I am now a first time Ford Owner after being a Jeep (Grand Cherokee) owner and hope Ford cleans up their act and commitment to existing customers in their pipeline before trying to take new orders. It's certainly not a great first time experience on my end either, but the car is beautiful and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can take delivery of your Ford before the R/T comes!

So talk to me about the recall fix. You're saying the car automatically puts the parking brake on when parked, and you just have to make sure you release the parking brake before driving every time?

That’s how mine is. It’s become routine - I go to turn off the auto start/stop (still wish that wasn’t a thing), then hit the parking brake. It’s already muscle memory and I haven’t had it a week yet.

In another thread on here, I read about the recall and fix. I see where the recall AUTOMATICALLY applies the electronic parking break every time you put the car in park...and then AUTOMATICALLY turns off the electronic parking brake when these three conditions are met 1) driver door is closed 2) car is placed in R or D and 3) you apply gas. There's NOTHING to do....it does it all AUTOMATICALLY. Of course, you can....if you wish....turn it off MANUALLY. But there is no need. It will come off the moment you apply gas and try to start moving. Hope this helps....I know it helps me to know it's like that.

If only...................I could GET A CAR...............................to see this worko_O

Sheesh I did not know this! I'll have to give it a try this morning - my understanding is you had to apply the brake and release the parking brake. Will check and confirm!

So I'm a practicing Engineer in the IT world. I'm also a PMP certified Manager, and I do Risk Management on all the multimillion dollar Programs I manage for the DoD. As part of my Risk Management, you're always analyzing risks....by doing the following:

1. identify risks
2. analyze the Probability of them occurring (P)
3. analyze the Impact if they occur (|)
4. assign a risk priority (Priority = P x I)
5. determine/identify ways to mitigate the risk (avoid it if it's a negative risk, exploit it if it's a positive risk...and yes, some risks do have positive outcomes!)
6. should the risk occur, identify a contingency plan(s) to deal with the negative results of the occurrence
7. build a risk register that contains all the risks, their probabilities, their impacts, their priorities, the mitigation and contingency plans...."racked and stacked" by priority number (higher priority numbers warrant more action/watching)
8. monitor that risk register and take action as needed

With that in mind, if I was managing this Ford Explorer ST "fiasco", one of the many things that would be on my risk register (along with chip shortages, transportation issues, plant shutdowns, etc, etc)....would be THIS scenario:

- I've got a backlog of 100s or 1000s of Explorer STs.....waiting to be shipped (and perhaps some, waiting to be built?) ...in storage. ASSUMING THAT STORAGE IS OUTSIDE....and I'm pretty sure it is....here's one of my identified risks and my assessment:

1. I identify I have 100s or 1000s of Explorer STs sitting OUTSIDE....in the weather...waiting on parts or shipment. If bad weather comes along.....like hail....that means those 100s or 1000s of brand new Explorer STs...that have been waiting for shipment.....and waiting on customers to buy....and US TO RECOUP OUR MONEY.....are at risk of damage
2. probability of it happening....perhaps low in the beginning? But the longer they sit outside....especially in the volatile weather that can be Spring....the more likely it could happen over time
3. impact.....if this risk event occurs...100s or 1000s of cars....basically ALL OF THEM SITTING IN THAT LOT....are damaged and can't be sold (not at full retail anyway). The financial loss (and loss of customers) ...COULD BE HUGE
4. risk priority.....low P times HIGH I (the loss on all those cars would be huge).....gives you a somewhat moderate INITIAL Priority. BUT AS TIME GOES BY....the likelihood of this random event (hail).....keeps increasing over time (the longer they sit outside....day after day). Think about it.....sooner or later....almost all of us see some hail where we live.....over a longer period of time....as storms come and go. It's just the random chance the BAD storm hits YOUR location. So Priority (for taking action)....is INCREASING over time...as the longer period of exposure to weather....slightly increases the odds of it actually finally happening some time in the future.
5. Mitigation......try to ship quicker (may not be possible due to transportation issues).....try to find a covered lot (probably too expensive or there isn't one big enough)...get insurance should it happen to lessen losses (they likely ARE doing this.....is my guess?)....etc.
6. Contingency plan.....I guess.....is either offer cars for sale with hail damage at a reduced price (not even sure they can/will do this?).....plan on rebuilding ALL THOSE CARS (think about that one for a minute....think about how backed up they already are.....that would be "the perfect storm" ....sorry for the pun).

Obviously, NONE of the contingency plans have a GOOD outcome. Nor are their many good mitigation plans. THE REAL ANSWER ....in my mind....is get those damn cars off the lot BEFORE the disaster occurs. So they're rolling the dice an event like that....bad weather....won't happen. BUT IF IT DID.............what a disaster. Every day those cars sit out there, is another day....you're taking a risk. Sometimes, companies decide the risk is worth the reward. Perhaps, that's how Ford sees this? Surely if I've thought about it....since they are in the business of selling cars....surely they've long ago thought of this. Or maybe they have some plan I don't know of.....since I'm not in the car business.....I'm an IT guy.

Sorry, but that's how I'm trained to think in doing my job. I'm trained to think "how can this go wrong"...."how can I avoid it"....and if it does occur, "what can i do as a contingency plan". I sure hope it doesn't happen....or.....that they finally ship my car. Mine has already sat their in that lot a LONGGGGG time.....BUILT....since 14 March. That's 67 days my car has sat in the weather....rolling the dice.....hoping and praying that "perfect storm" doesn't come along............. (along with all the other risks- interest rates rising, car damaged in shipment, lose my job....wait...that already happened...but got another one, etc.)

Well....as predicted.....Ford has done it again....for the FIFTH time. Before the old (4th) window of 14-20 May has even come to an end....."ta da".....what a surprise, they've moved the carrot a little further in front of me to see if I'll chase it some more......now 9-15 June is the latest, greatest window. Giving credit where credit is due......SHOULD IT ACTUALLY COME IN THAT WINDOW....which I have extreme doubt it will....but if it did, that would be right in line with what others have said on here about "just over 5 months". June 8 marks the 5 month point for me. So 9-15 June would be indeed just over 5 months.

I have ZERO, repeat ZERO confidence it will come then either. Just as I have ZERO confidence in Ford any more. And I do have that Durango on order....promised for June. Sadly, I think Ford is going to miss out on my sale. Matters not to them no doubt...............but sure does matter to me.

Hi all,

I ordered a fully loaded Atlas Blue ST on March 8th, got build date June 20th, then changed to May 16th and changed another time to May 23rd.

I am hoping to get the Multicontour seats, the weird thing is when you log in at track your order you can see all the accessories, at first it showed the Multicontour seats but now not anymore. But it doesn't show a credit either. Does this means I will not get them? Dealer said all looks fine.

Something else. Did you guys know that there is now a ST appearance package to choose when custom order? It has accent red and blue stitching on the seats, center console, door panels, and floor mats. I think that will look sick. I always thought the interior of the ST needed some style and signature. Can I still add this option or need to cancel and re order? It has option code 67F.

Has anyone been scheduled for production lately? I asked my dealer if any specific parts on my order were holding it up and he said nothing parts-wise; just that no STs are currently being scheduled.

i went out to the Ford site last night.....just for the heck of it, and tried to see what all the ordering process was like now (vs 8 January when I ordered). First, there is the disclaimer that pops up and warns some features are no longer available. Then, I noticed you CAN NOT order the Premium Technology Package WITH the multicontour seats. I thought they said only Fleet and Dealer orders wouldn't be able to get that? I thought customer orders STILL could? Apparently, that's changed now. Guess what else changed. For the SAME vehicle....minus the multicontour seats (which now the Prem Tech Package is only 995), the cost of the car went up OVER 2,000 from when I ordered. And part of the increase, is now there is an "addendum" fee.....of something like $663 (I did it late last night.....so my memory could be a FEW dollars off?). Also, destination charges went up to 1495 (from the standard 1295 back earlier in the year)....no doubt due to rising cost of diesel?

Anyway, the same car is a few $$k more....and has the added mark up of over 600......and the added destination charge....and less the multicontour seats. So I suspect the ordering process (and wait) is only getting worse? If I were to stick this out....I suppose that would be incentive to hang in ......but I NEVER plan on ordering through Ford again (as I've said several times on here now, but I repeat myself o_O ) and I don't think I can take it much more. I'm on a "fever pitch" trying to hunt down my next substitute car to replace the one Ford will never ship.....THIS one.

oh, day 68 since it was built (but never shipped), day 132 since ordered................and counting................
