Swapped out a bad purge valve at 55k on a 2020. This thing is a PITA to swap. Little to no room but with a small 90* pick it can be done in about 30ish

What exactly is the common issue with the purge valve on these?
On the Focus ST, they're known to go bad, and will cause a few CELs and worst case, the fuel tank can deform. There was a recall on it. Most people just replace them periodically as preventative maintenance. Some people have even gone so far as to DIY their own replacement that can correct the issue, and make future replacements easier.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a substantially similar part. I wonder if a similar approach could be taken on the Explorer.
