What happened to your order ? I called Vossen today and they told me mine are 2-3 weeks from shipping and mine were special order also . Seems like we will be getting them around the same time but i thought you ordered yours before me .

I changed the order on the width and that pushed the date back

Well that makes sense . I stayed with a 9 wide because we don't make enough power to need a wider tire . I might go with some spacers to push them out a bit . 1/4" up front and 1/2" out back . I also went with a slightly shorter overall diameter on my wheel / tire combo . I figured if i was going to lower it , it might as well be lower to the ground . I figured the overall cost difference between a 10.5" wheel and tire to a 9" could be used towards other mods .

Just out of curiosity , what did you guys pay for your 10.5 combo ?

You did get a good deal . I have a good hook up also which is why I paid so little for my setup . I did satin silver with gloss red center caps .

There’s more to it than just putting power to the ground. A 10.5 at +30 adds over 2” to the track width and puts over an inch more rubber on the road on all 4 corners. That makes a substantial difference in handling and how fast you can throw it through corners.

I'm not arguing with you over that . I completely understand what the purpose of a wider wheel/tire combo , track width does . I was merely saying that in this platform , actually people auto crossing or track racing is probably going to be few and far between . A competitive racer , or even occasional racer , is not out looking at a 50k+ Ford suv .

I personally love this ST and i am going to do mods to it that others may not like or understand but i don't care .

I took mine out and flogged the hell out of it on some twisty roads with a local car group last weekend. Considering they have a damn near 50/50 weight balance it surprised me with how well it took to the roads. Some bigger sway bars would turn these things into a real corner carver. The only time I was out-driven was on corner exits...it’s obviously lacking the power of the cars I was with but those guys were pretty surprised too.
Race car? Hell no...but there’s a lot of potential here.

Coming from a Mustang with 305/30 front and 325/30 rears, everything smaller than a 305 looks weird to me. I love wide tires and I cannot lie...

I was working out the offset and tire sizes last night to run a 22x12 out back with a 325/35. Bad thing is I’d have to run a 285/40 up front for equal heights and they’re both 31” tall. I’m not done thinking it through. lol

I like a little bit of rake from back to front honestly as long as it's not too extreme.

I like a little stagger but I don’t want to run 285’s on a 10.5” wheel and the wife wouldn’t be too happy if I had another full set of wheels built a month after the first set. lol

Completely agree 100%

......but do you think you couldn't have done that with the 9" wide with spacer setup ? I would be willing to bet the 9" wide would perform the same . Now tack on another 100+whp and yes , I would think that it is almost essential to go wider . I am not knocking anyone that went 10.5 because i think it looks fantastic and does serve a purpose if you are using it for very spirited driving adventures....like you do . I am merely stating that most people will not use the vehicle for the same purpose . I also do my occasional spirited driving but i thought , for my purpose , i would use the extra money towards other mods that i want to do .

Lastly , if you are going to run through some twisty roads at speed.....put it on camera so we can enjoy it also (y)(y)(y)
