Audio Prompt when using Apple Car Play

Question for everyone. I have recently been getting the Audio Prompt only when I try to adjust my volume. This only occurs when my Iphone X is connected via lightning cable. At first the issue would correct when I disconnected the cable then reconnected to the Iphone. Today however, I cannot get the Prompt to go away and have had to disconnect the cable, adjust the volume and then reconnect. This is a huge PITA. I actually had a similar issue while I had a loaner Fusion. Is there a button somewhere that I am missing to fix this bug? Thanks in advance!

This just started happening to me and my 8plus.

For me it appears to be picking up prompts for Waze. My fix is to open the Waze app in CarPlay, unlock phone, open Waze, force close all apps on phone. It is a huge PITA.

I have found a couple places online that suggest to update, but mine won’t accept via web. Another option is to download update and install with memory/thumb drive physically attached to car. Haven’t had time to look deeper into this. I was hoping to have the dealership update it during the first free oil change.

Funny, I just realized that I had an update on my phone just prior to this problem starting. I actually have Waze as well and it auto loads as my default nav. I deleted Waze from my phone completely because I was to the point that disconnecting the audio cable then reconnecting did not fix the problem any more. When I googled the issue, I found a TON of posts for similar issues relating to Sync3 and Android Auto. I love my Fords but the Sync systems have been a complete fail for me for several years. I had a 2014 F150 and it was the absolute worst Sync system. I wish that car companies would go back to the old way where the stereo didnt interface so much with the vehicle so that we could purchase something else.
