Engine Oil Temperature PID

Hi!

I can't for the life of me figure out a way to get the actual Engine Oil Temperature.
That there is no way to show it somewhere in Sync3 or the gauge cluster is just ridiculous for a model that's named ST. But ok.
I've tried with a OBDlink MX+ and several IOS-apps (OBDLink/FORScan/Car Scanner) - but no success.

Is there a Oil Temp sensor at all in this car? There should be, right? The P3 gauge shows oil temp?
Does someone happen to know the PID/Header values to add to any of the OBD apps?

That's a typo on the P3 page that they're supposed to be fixing. I spoke with them after I got my gauge and couldn't read oil temp. No PID I'm told, and no oil pressure, just a low pressure switch, which seems insane to me.

This is a bit irritating then, P3 said there isn't one, clearly there is. Might try opening a ticket with them, Oil Pressure is an important one, so is Oil Temp.

Yeah. I came from a 2022 Durango R/T. Uconnect5 showed me IAT, Oil temp, Oil press, etc... by default.
Here in Michigan winters are pretty cold. I always used oil temp as the indicator for a fully warmed up engine. Oil temp rises pretty delayed to coolant temp.
Coolant temp is not reliable as the sign when it is safe to give it the beans. I really miss oil temp (and my V8 :-( )

It does on some vehicles if it is being broadcasted via the OBD2 port (AKA - PID's). Ironically, I do not see engine oil temp as a PID from an Explorer. A display cannot relay and monitor info the vehicle is not putting out.

I agree. Some of the items that the P3 shows are kinda useless for my needs, but the oil pressure PID would be nice. Clearly there is one as seen in post #4.

P3 also mentioned engine oil temp, but that's not there. Also, is there some trick to get some of the other acceleration/braking timers? The only one that seems to load up for me is 0-60MPH timer. I know you can hide some of the readouts but don't think mine are hidden.






I like what the Banks unit shows (and how you can see more than one PID at a time), but I like how more subtle the P3 is in the interior. If i don't want to look at it, i just unplug the OBD2 connector and it's off and somewhat invisible. I have enough pod gauges in my Mustangs and trying to not go that route in the Explorer.

Banks is just plain ole ugly, what the f*ck were they thinking!
