LA meaning where Cajuns come from, not that city on the lower left coast. I closed on a 2026 ST yesterday. It's a 4WD star white with sun and sound and I'm looking for ideas to put my mark on it. Three years ago, I had a plan to trade my then 2015 F-150 on an ST in a year or two in an effort to down size. I'm retired and didn't need a big truck that's always a joy to park in small parking lots. In 2023, my buddy at the Ford dealership texted me that he had 2023 Bronco Wildtrak that a customer ordered and didn't inform him that he got tired of waiting and bought some Hennessey variant. I have a long history with Broncos when they were bobtailed F-150s, so based on their come back, I test drove it and bought it. Coming out of the pandemic, they threw stupid money at my 8 yo trade, so I did the deal. It's a formidable off-road vehcilce, but I don't do much of that any more. Two years later, I moved to another residence and I now have a 30 minute commute on the interstate to get back to the town I lived in for 70 years. After 9 months, I finally had enough of the road noise at 70+ mph with this vehicle. I knew better than to buy a black vehicle too, but I did it anyway, cause I was never going to wait up to a year and order one. So contemplating doing a LOT of sound deading, I did a build and price over this past weekend just to spitball on just dumping this truck on a trade. Low and behold when I select view inventory, that exact SUV was "in-transit" at the dealership my buddy works at. My inquiry was met with, it's here now. Maybe the starts are aligning for a reason. They threw stupid money at that Bronco, so here I am. Not only is this ride way quieter and more comforable, a charterisic I missed in the F-150, but Blue Cruise makes that commute to town a lot less stressful. Nothing I've ever owned stayed stock, so I'm joining to see what mods are out there. This is pretty much a daily driver/inclement weather rig for me. I have a couple of mustangs that scratch my need for speed.
During a couple of my earlier Broncos, I ordered a 1991 Explorer, yep year 1. My first black vehicle too. It was too small for my needs back then and such a turd with its 140 hp, I traded it on another slightly used Bronco after a year and a half. How Ford's platforms have morphed over the last 35 years.
