I run the AEM dry filters. They definitely allow more airflow (and yes, a bit more dirt), but I’m not expecting horsepower gains or mpg from them. These engines already pick up close to 100 HP from a simple tune — exhausts and CAIs are basically wasted money under normal driving conditions. I’ve seen a few dyno tests on YouTube where exhausts gave a couple of dyno horsepower, but CAIs are all over the place and generally not worth it these days (if you are just getting a tune).

I keep an eye on any increased dirt by checking it through UOA. Full disclosure, I have an exhaust, but it was done for sound, not for drag racing.

I get about 17.5 mixed driving around town with a lot of sport mode and idling. Did a road trip over the summer and was getting 27mpg doing about 80 and dropped to 24 when I was cruising at 85

Right now based on the last 2-3K miles of driving the vehicle is showing an average fuel economy of 19.6 MPG. 91-93 octane (depending on what the station has)

This car is just daily transportation to me. Lots of time idling in school drop-off and traffic. Mix of normal, eco and sport mode, with some of the other modes mixed in. No performance mods. Bone stock and staying that way.
