First off I know there is threads out there about this, let’s make this one different.

What’s everyone doing to get better economy? I realize that’s not what these cars are for, but I’m doing lots of highways miles as of recent, and anything helps right? My theory is more power, the less fuel it takes to move the car. Or in other words, an engine working less hard is a more efficient engine. So I told the wife listen, I’m slapping an intercooler on, downpipes, and lowering the car. I don’t care about the dollar amount spent going into the car, I care about travelling longer between gas stations. Doing below the speed limit is not an option, speed limit, or better.

Yes and no, if the power is made more efficient, it will be better. For example If I’m cruising at 2psi boost, and I replace the intercooler and now I cruise at 1psi, it will be better

Dashboard reading only, not hand calculated, so take it with a grain of salt. I don't really bother with hand calculation because I don't really care. Running in Sport Mode when I drive and Normal when my wife drives, split about 50/50, getting 22 MPG. Interestingly, we do a lot of short trip driving, which leaves me feeling pretty good about that reading. I've seen it touch 28, on a longer freeway trip, but more often 26, running in Normal Mode. I've never even given ECO Mode a fair shot.

I think my new one is still figuring it out. Hand calculated on a trip, it was 23 miles per gallon. When I fill up on Friday for the following work week, the range is all over the place. My daily commute is pretty easy; in the morning, I get almost 65 miles per hour on cruise for 25 miles. In the afternoon, it's half 65 and half 4-lane with red lights, but I use adaptive cruise and stop-and-go driving and just take my time. When I filled up last week, it said 325 miles to empty, which was LOW, and it took a while even to start counting down. This weekend's fill-up shows 348 miles, which is terrible for a 20-gallon tank. So, once again, I think it may still be a learning process. Im also not even getting in it yet or really using sport mode, since its still low miles.

More power doesn’t necessarily mean better gas mileage, most times it’s the opposite cause you’re using more fuel to make more power.

On topic - I get 13 - 14 MPG.

Primarily driven around town in SPORT Mode except once I am on freeway road trips, cruising speed limit +5mph to Bay Area
Although, I do particularly like approaching freeway onramps as fast I can safely (pending traffic)

Only Performance Upgrades:
__ K & N Performance Air Filter
__Resonator Delete and H-Pipe exhaust install
__Premium 91 Oct in CA

Lowest MPG: 14.7
Highest MPG: 24.4
Average MPG over 10 fill ups: 19.2

That being said, I have now spent more time tonight confirming my MPG's than I have after any particular fill up. I bought this ST to replace a SHELBY GT!!!

Interesting, my wife made me get rid of my GT350 because the roads were too bad where we lived… now we moved and she wants a car again ‍♂️ the ST will never sound like a GT350 but a GT350 will never launch like a tuned ST

Agreed!!!
It got to the point where it was becoming almost impossible to get in/out of the SHELBY cars, especially in a parking lot. They are lowered 1 1/2" at Shelby American during the build.
