We only have 91 and 94 here, 94 is pointless without a tune so used 91 since bought new. Pretty much all my Ford Performance vehicles (including my '24 F-150 Raptor) is running premium, always.

As I've mentioned in previous threads, I always use the highest-grade Top Tier fuel available.

I use regular only, it was recommended by my dealer here in NJ
Same goes with htis dealer https://www.hinesparkfordinc.com/ford-model-gas-information
Dealers aren't really the most reliable when it comes to technical advice. Regardless, the topic of fuel is in the owners manual.

Really it's the yellow highlighted section that folks are debating here regarding a stock, untuned ST. On a 95 degree humid day, if you are towing something, it might be best to have 91+ in the tank.

93. Have run that in my last 6 cars. 4 ecoboosts and 2 coyotes (all 6 were tuned). Wife's Lincoln got 93, and now her Porsche does too.

This always amazed me with “performance” vehicles. Saw it in the mustang forum too. You bought a performance vehicle and people hand wring about not running the highest octane you can get to get the most HP you can. I’ll never understand it.

In my history as a licensed driver since 1974 I've owned 12 vehicles including the 2025 ST. My first was a 1968 Camaro with a 327 V8, then a 79 Z-28 Camaro with a 350 V8 and later a 1993 Corvette also with a 350 V8. These were the fastest cars with the most horsepower of the bunch until I bought the Explorer ST which beats them all. I'm in my late 60's and not interested in drag racing so 'tuning' isn't in my future. For what it is this SUV handles just fine and has the power to easily pass slow drivers on the highway or merge with interstate traffic which is all I need. 87 octane works for me just fine, not that I can't afford 91 or 93 but the value of eking out another 15-20 HP doesn't make sense in my situation. For laughs I might try a tank of the good stuff one day just to see if it changes my life, but with the price of oil climbing over the weekend I might wait a bit. Stay safe folks!
