Weird clicking engine noises when car is off

When I open the door and enter car there are loud clicking noises. I also noticed them after car is off and I was washing it. Has anyone figured this out?

Mine clicks like crazy. Open a door, clicks, open lift gate, clicking. Unlock doors, clicking. Pretty sure it is just waking up.

It takes about 30 minutes after you turn it off for everything to go to sleep. Not really a problem on ST's, but it's caused flat battery issues with contractors etc who have Transit vans owing to them being parked all day with workers opening & closing doors which keeps the vehicle awake all day.
