Trans Smell driving me bonkers

All,

I just recently did a Transmission service (drop pan, replace filter) with AMSOIL and it fixed my intermittent hesitation during acceleration!.... yay....

Now, everytime I sit idle, with the heat on, all I can smell in the cabin is transmission fluid and Its terrible. It has been 2,500 miles since the service but the smell is the same. I had it on the lift three days ago and ran it while on the lift. There are no leaks to be seen and the fluid level remains the same. I made sure it was all cleaned off when I performed the work and there are no signs of leakage anywhere.

Anyone else experience this problem? am I just stupid? what am I missing here?

Only thing I can think of is overfilled. But you’re not finding a leak. And spilled during the install should have cooked off.

Amsoil is, to say the least, slick. I don’t have any experience with the trans-fluid….but I used to own a twin engine cigarette boat with the old-school carb’ed 454’s. Asked my engine guy about running their oil. He advised against it due the engine being older and so broken in that Amsoil would find ANY nook or cranny to leak out of and you’d never figure out where. Likely a bit of apples to peaches comparison….but anything they make is both good and SUPER slick.
