So at this point I am now looking at around 1200 miles on the clock. I think I am going to take what was said in a previous post about oil and go ahead with a oil change this week. What I am curious about is should I be running a heavier weight oil in our climate due to heat and such. I think they said to run it at 20 weight

5w-30 will be just fine.

Run what it calls for and change it when it calls for. Zero need for a 1000 mile oil change. It’s not the 70’s.

I changed mine at 1500, did a UOA, and saw no reason to change it that early. So run it. I personally change an ecoboost at 5k miles, not the 8-10k they will tell you. I am running Valvoline Full Syn 5W-30, and it appears to be shearing down to 20W, so I may be swapping oils soon or running a slightly heavier Valvoline. The closer the cold and hot viscosities the better the oil may hold up, so I will either go 10w-30 Val or swap to Mobil 5w-30.

Mine being tuned could also be a contributor to that, I dont know. All I know is what the lab shows me.
