I'm probably answering my own question but does the white strut body cap need to be removed before I put everything together? I looked at my OEMs and they have it installed too, I was under the assumption these were on here for shipping purposes?

Leave them on. My original struts had them when installed.

That's what I thought as well, I just found out ford uses them as a integrated bump stop (OEM Struts), I also forgot to mention the new struts are the steeda pro action struts if that makes a difference, I know they are re-badged OEM ST strut bodies. The research I'm doing is saying remove them.

I believe their purpose is to stop the bumper from contacting the shaft seal when fully compressed.

They’re not just rebadged strut bodies…they’re rebadged struts. Steeda changes nothing at all.

Was also thinking if it were meant to be removed, why include it in the first place. It doesn’t appear to perform any type of protection during shipping. You know the penny pinchers would eliminate it to save the ten cents
