Hi all!

My really new (4 days old) to me 2023 ST has a rough cold idle.
It's only noticeable when the car is sitting for a long time or overnight and only for a minute or so.
I can then hear and feel something switching and adjusting under the hood and the idle turns to very smooth.

Is that normal?

Of course I couldn't experience this during my test-drive, as the dealer moved the car out of the showroom before I arrived there.

Thanks,
Patrick

Most likely normal. Would need a video to hear.

My 2022 does this as well. I wouldn’t call mine rough, but it’s not smooth. Only occurs on cold starts below 20 degrees, then smooths out in a few minutes. It’s a small popping out of stock exhaust. I’ve had my rig for 6 months and I’m at 62k. Could be normal.

Thanks.
Is there possibly some EPA-shit going on? My 2022 Durango and every other car I drove (in Germany though) had a higher cold idle for a couple of minutes.
Seems like the Explorer doesn't.

Mine always is a little rough coming down from its high idle to the 1k RPM idle.
