Thank you, finally got my Skybox 18 in. Lot bigger than I expected... Will post how it looks, I have a feeling I'm gonna look like a bubble butt explorer now! hahaha

Its official, Imma dad! hahaha. I feel like there is no way for a roof box to not look like a pair of New Balance shoes and a fanny pack. Either way this should work for all the stuff and things.

Thoughts?

I'd rethink that. Most of us are ignoring the Ford limits but are driving cautiously knowing the rollover risk is greater. I think my Skybox weighs 47lbs? It's almost a given that I'm going to exceed 75lb. i for sure drive cautiously but have to remind my wife because it's not something she thinks about.

I too put heavy things in the trunk and try to put lighter things up top. But anyone who's travelled by air knows even clothes weigh a ton.
Always smart to be cautious, but I've definitely had as much as 240 lbs on my roof without issues.

Honestly only a few miles, but I really feel like the weight limit has more to do with affecting vehicle stability.
The weight should be distributed on the rail so all the load should be on the body side not the roof. There’s no difference in those bodysides or the rails for the sun roof variants.

I see. I was told by an REI sales associates then it often breaks the seal of the moon roof which could lead to leaks or even cracks. I have a 5k mile trip to Colorado and Utah in a month and I'm trying to decided if it’s worth the risk to bring the roof cargo along.

I have a front runner roof rack, xxl Thule motion, sets of skis/boards and had a full size spare up there going on a year now and almost 30k miles. About 40 miles of rough dirt road every day to the house here in Colorado and pretty aggressive driving on the road. I just dropped the headliner and pulled out the moon roof to sound deaden the inside and found no leaks or damage. The front runner also has 3 mount points on each side which helps distribute weight. I would say there is about a zero percent chance you’ll roll this car if you stay on the roads
