Opinions (via experience) of aluminium pods for mids?

The carbon nanos (4wm) are not sounded as good as the carbon mm3's did in previous vehicle. They're not going to work with custom a-pillars so I'm looking at alternatives and found these made-for-driver aluminium pods. I've watched a youtube video of another person using them and they're pleased with the sound but I'm having a hard time imagining a small, sealed metal ball working for a driver that was designed with larger airspace in mind. I pretty uninformed about these though so looking to see if anyone has used or heard them in the past.

Those pods are one of the worst mounting solutions possible. Small midranges like this are basically omnidirectional with a near 360° dispersion pattern. When you hang the midrange out in the air like that you create a huge amount of reflection issues that will have you pulling your hair out trying to tame.
