Had a Thermal 3 inch on my 2022 very loud liked it - sold the 22 and bought my 2025 bought a Thermal 3 inch from Lethal.

What I got is not what I had.

These pipes are no where near as loud as my 22 set. Actually, louder than the stock pipes but not by much. Not sure what the HELL they did to them between 22 and 25 but what a big difference.

Then I read on here where people are complaining they are to loud W T F - not sure what the HELL they're listening to cause these pipes are anemic and the AWE are virtually as bad. What a F'ing waste of money ...

and the other thing I forgot to mention is "what's up with the exhaust tips and the clamping on the muffler - as in can't - get them tight unless you rent a Gorilla to tighten them and even then they are slightly loose" - :( good grief

I'm betting it's more a product of the newer car (engine changes downpipe differences etc) than the pipes... just my 2 cents
I've got a 3"... its louder than stock at start up.. then drops down... but when in "Sport" and mashing the go fast pedal... its "Lively"

Hopefully the exhaust breaks in a bit for you. My 2.5 is not what I would consider loud but significantly louder than factory.

Is the cabin noise at cruise louder with the Thermal than with the stock exhaust?

Yes - on acceleration but not at cruising speeds and not much on idle, cold starts yes, but mellows out nicely after warm. Just did a 600 mile trip and the noise was not an issue - hardly noticeable. It has broken in and is pretty close to my old unit from my 2022. So I’m smiling again… not a fan of the tips at all I am actually making my own. I have two 5 inch Corsa black tips taken off my Z06 have some three inch 304 steel exhaust tube cutting it and welding the Corsa tips on and replacing the shitty Thermal tips going from 4 to huge 2 in the rear I will post pictures after …

I can speak for 2.5. On a flat surface it is bone stock. With an incline it is marginally louder.

Quad 4.5’s will look a lot better than dual 5’s in the oem opening. I mocked up the 5’s a while back…didn’t look good at all.

I had the same issue with the tips, just could not get the supplied clamps tight enough so got some U-Bolt exhaust clamps that worked.

Noise wise I have a 2021 explorer and was hoping for more rudeness, just added the CVF downpipes and now loving being a teenage hooligan again!

So on the tips being tight issue - the secret is to move the clamp all the way to the rear of the tips overlap and go a little over onto the muffler pipe about a 1/4 inch and tighten - wha-la tightens up nice and snug.

I’ll give it a try if it gets rid of the larger uglier clamps I used

Make sure you report back here on that - so others see that it works(y)

You can also cut 3-4 slits into the end of the tip to allow the metal to cinch down around the muffler exit better. That will 100% fix your issue. I use a cut-off wheel but a hacksaw will do the job as well.
A band clamp shouldn’t have to be anything but flush with the end it’s covering.
