I am looking at the setup in the picture. I am always very cautious before pulling the trigger that I am ordering all the right parts for my 2020 ST Explorer. I think this everything I need. Any thoughts?

Looks good. The 2.5" sounds great, so you are definitely gonna make a little noise.

After having an ST with Thermal's 2-1/2" sytem installed and LOVING its sounds, I would never buy the 3" system unless you're planning to spend about $20K on additional mods such as larger turbos, very aggressing 'tunings', etc.. Same for the downpipes.. Do more research here; there's plenty of info.

I am for sure not spending another 20k , looks like I will adjust my order. I don’t need to change anything on the downpipe right?

How does that make sense? The 3” is louder too which most people like.

I'm thinking @jeffreybehr was saying he'd need to spend the 20K to fully utilize the 3" system.

I'm not too sure about the "most people" part of it.

I do see a lot of people adding resonators lol, with downpipes and 3". If you aren't building some crazy build, I'm sure the 2.5" flows fine. I mean, they are essentially straight pipes. I'm glad I didnt go any louder.

Everyone who’s putting resonators on have downpipes.

That’s not what I was referring to, sorry got confused, one of the posters said, “I would never buy the 3" system unless you're planning to spend about $20K on additional mods such as larger turbos, very aggressing 'tunings', etc.. Same for the downpipes.” So that’s what I was referring to. I don’t care for the 3” and downpipes so agree with you nonetheless.

So only thing left that I am going to do is go with a tune, just wanting to add a little more power. So if I am going with just a tune with exhaust and a CAI are the down pipes not needed? Sorry for all the questions just not well versed this stuff

None of that stuff is needed. Also, a CAI wont help power, but downpipes will help a little, but aren’t needed.
