New Bluetooth Device....Tracker

Since purchasing my ST a month ago I have noticed my computer seeing a new bluetooth device. I figure it must be on the Explorer. Is the general consensus that it is a low jack type of tracker, a dealership installed tracker or factory installed? Is it possibly related to my ability to locate the vehicle using my Ford Pass app or is it something I completely don't need?

Yes it is financed. My purchase contract does not mention any type of tracker or asset protection as they would be required to do. I paid $20K down with an 860+ credit rating so it is not a high risk that I won't make my payments. When I bought the car they had 4 dealer add on charges, one of which was for a Low Jack protection. I did not want that and made them remove that charge. I am hoping that it was already installed and they did not wish to remove it.

Other than the system itself, which is named Ford Explorer, Ford doesn’t install any other tracker. Dealer may do it if you finance it.

Take a look down around your OBD2 port to see if anything has been added in that area. I'd bet that your issue is part of the LoJack.

I did a quick check and I don't have any tracker showing. Mine isn't financed.

You may want to check around your battery for extra boxes. I bought a Mustang GT used and found a lo-jack cellular module attached. I never had an issue but I removed it from the car and disposed of it. Just an idea.

Mine came with the Connect Tracker that the dealer installed and piggy backs the OBD port. When I got home I pulled it out and threw it away, since the Ford app already tells me the location.

Could it be used for Bluetooth-based asset tracking, dealership inventory tracker? I bet they want it back.
