Hello ST Family,
I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself while sharing a few updates regarding my 2026 ST, which I purchased brand new with only 9 miles on the odometer.
The vehicle was running flawlessly until a recent software update disrupted several internal systems. I am currently experiencing the following update-related issues:
Non-Update Issue: Defective Windshield Glass
I also wanted to share a strange hardware issue I encountered. I initially had Paint Protection Film (PPF) applied to my windshield. After a few weeks, I noticed some distortion and took it back to my tint shop, assuming the film hadn't cured correctly.
Upon removing the film and cleaning the glass, the installers discovered the defect was actually inside the windshield itself. It looks exactly like blurry, distorted water trickling down a house window.
Other than that, I Love my ST

The vehicle was running flawlessly until a recent software update disrupted several internal systems. I am currently experiencing the following update-related issues:
- Key Fobs: The remote start functionality is completely unresponsive. They replaced 2 sets and still not auto-starting
- Side Mirrors: Power-folding mirrors are no longer opening or closing automatically.
- Infotainment/Display: The radio and center display consistently reset to factory default settings, erasing my personalized configurations.

- First Replacement: I took the vehicle straight to my Ford dealership. They verified the defect, submitted a warranty claim, and installed a replacement windshield a couple of weeks later.
- The Catch: Before leaving, my service rep, the installers, and I inspected the newly installed glass. We immediately noticed that the brand-new replacement windshield had the exact same factory defects, just in different areas of the glass.
Credit where it's due: My Ford dealership has gone above and beyond to advocate for me and ensure these issues are resolved.
Has anyone else ran into this specific windshield glass defect?Other than that, I Love my ST
