Some may have seen my V1 prototype but the evolution of my Blue Cruise P3 Gauge mash up continues. The prototype was made by trimming the lens part of the column shroud along with disassembling the P3 display to cut the tinted cover to fit the cutout in the lens. Clear as mud? See pic below.

I had another idea for V2 so I bought another shroud and also another display from P3. Those are about $80 and $150 respectively. This time I wanted the display directly behind the lens, but the lens is too thick and way too dark so the display won’t even show through it. I broke out my Dremel and some sanding discs and sanded the lens from roughly 2.5mm thick down to .9mm then sanded and polished the backside of it until it was shiny again and that’s how I got the gauge display to show like below. I have an idea for a V3 but I’m going to need to visit my buddies shop with a laser to cut some tinted Lexan so this is how it will stay for a while.

This is awesome. I saw your post on FB about this.

I only made it as far as buying the shroud. I’ll have to grab a new display shortly.

I like my P3 gauge but always hated the position. I think this is a much better idea.
