As my keyfob was functioning a bit erratic, i thought to change the battery.

When opening the keyfob and removing the battery, a flexible pcb popped out as well.
I've not seen one like it before, nor in the manual, nor on any youtube video.

Who knows what this is/does?

It could be part of a Wireless Car Security System Immobilizer

I thought of this too this afternoon, just got a reply from the installer and indeed it was from the immobilizer!

PitA to get it in properly though
I have a coworker that's having issues with his immobilizer, we could not figure out where the unlock signal was coming from until I saw your post, Thanks!.
