JXB DIff Insert x Steeda’s Diff Brace

If you’re looking to strengthen your differential setup on your Explorer especially if you launch aggressively or have performance mods, IMO the best results comes from adding the JXB DIff Insert and Steeda’s Diff Brace.

If you can’t afford both then you should first start with the JXB insert for firming up the bushings. The JXB Diff Insert was super affordable, super easy install, and most importantly reduces diff movement with ZERO NVH impact. JXB has the best affordable product out there to stiffen the subframe bushing to reduce diff movement. Shout out to JXB!!!!

Very true, I can see where the NVH can be increased for the double rear differential bolt boys. Therefore, I’ll rephrase my post to no NVH for my ST but I do have the single rear differential bolt.

Interesting. I was about to pull the trigger on these but do not want any increase in NVH. Hopefully we can get some other people to sound off with their experience. I have a one bolt car. I wonder why the two bolt car would have worse NVH, that’s not so clear to me.

I just put in a JXB insert on two bolt 2020 ST with 12.9 bolts and I feel the NVH should I buy a set of OEM bolts 10.9 and leave inserts in ???

The oem bolts are just fine, especially with the JXB inserts. They’re meant to flex more. The larger more rigid bolt is more likely to crack or emit NVH. But in all honesty, I’ve heard there’s been a good chunk of people who have had NVH with the JXB inserts on the two bolt setup, I am unsure which bolts they were running though.

My suggestion is to just add a brace. Or you can try the inserts with the oem bolts just to see, if you still have the NVH then try only adding an insert to the bushing that flexes the most (can’t remember which one that is) (Get new oem bolts though, always replace after removing a diff bolt).

I would never recommend JXB inserts on a 2 bolt. When I removed mine due to noise, I noticed that the hollow metal part of the mount was deformed.

After the recall, the metal center part is solid metal but I'm still not putting a JXB on.
