I have an appointment to bring my 2026 Explorer ST 3.0 to the dealership next week (July 31st) because both my dash and infotainment screens have dimmed for no apparent reason. At first I thought it was an infotainment issue, but after further investigation, I found that it is directly related to the "Auto" or "Headlight" switch. If I turn the lights completely off, the brightness returns to normal on dash and infotainment screens. I have checked the brightness level to be sure it is at maximum..... it is.
Dash and infotainment brightness are acting like it's the middle of the night and adjusting the brightness to fit the conditions. However, it's the middle of the day (in the middle of summer), so no reason to dim the lights at all. It makes it very difficult to see the screen, and a little dangerous when backing up if you're relying on the screen to assist backing into a parking spot.
I will update this post as more information becomes available, but would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this issue and how it was resolved.
