I tried searching the forum, and Googling this, but cannot find an answer, is there any way to close background apps that are running when you have the Android Auto enabled.
For example I open Waze through the car display, then I'm running Spotify, but Waze is still running in the background and pings me with alerts, even though I don't want them, so how can I exit Waze and not just 'minimize' it to background?

P.S. I just had a thought maybe I need to close it fully on the phone? I will try that and see what happens.
Update: closing the app on your phone makes no difference, still can't figure out a way to close it on the car display.
