What octane is everyone using on a daily basis? Also I have a gas station with 88 octane I think it’s 15% ethanol I sure it safe to use every once in a while but does anyone else use it?

Here in Sacramento Area, you go either East or North from here and you plunge directly into hilly areas. I run 91 (highest available in Nor Cal) all the time.

COM, first, welcome to the forum.

That question has been asked here what seems like hundreds of times; a search for 'octane' will give U more info than you want to read.. FWIW, my opinion is that having to ask the question of what's the right gasoline to use with the 3L Ecoboost engine is caused by Ford not clearly stating what the engine was specified with, which they do for all or most other Ecoboost engines.

Also FWIW, I use and have used 91AKI, the highest we can easily find in AZ, in all-four of mine.. I 'create' that 91 by buying 87 and adding Boostane to it...I have MUCH Boostane in stock, one of many reasons my late, loving wife called me Mr. Excess.

You can technically run up to 30% ethanol on stock tune. 88 is just fine, 87 is just fine too. I use 91 just because I feel the car runs better, but it most likely doesn’t make a huge difference for most people.

I use 92/93 octane. This is still cheaper to feed than my 5.4l Expedition.
Sometimes I like to accelerate as fast as possible. The max HP/ Torque in stock tune is with higher octane according to Ford.
