Global Windows Close Enable - 2025+ Explorer

Since it's Friday, I figured, why not post this one too! Another question I got asked was, "Can Global Windows Close be enabled?" Answer is YES! The video attached shows Global Windows Close via keyfob!

**Global Windows Open should be enabled by default as standard. Check your vehicle settings on your infotainment screen in the "Windows" section. Toggle the "Global Windows Open" on!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following will need to be changed:

1. Connect your Explorer to FORScan.


2. Go your BdyCM (easy way, not as-built way).

3. In the search bar on the top left, type in “Approach Detection” (without quotations).

4. Change the following below from Disabled to Enabled:

• Global Close (change from Disabled to Remote)**
• Global Close - Vehicle
• Global Close - Initial Value
• Global Close - Personal 1
• Global Close - Personal 2
• Global Close - Personal 3
• Global Close - Personal 4

Write all to the Explorer. Cycle off, then back on.


5. Then change the following 2 modules below in "as-built" way, to enabled:

• PDM -> 741-06-02 -> xxxx-xxx1-xx--

Write to the Explorer. Cycle off, then on.

• DDM -> 740-06-02 -> xxxx-xxx1-xx--

Write to the Explorer. Cycle off, then on.


6. Disconnect the Explorer from FORScan and turn off your Explorer.

GLOBAL OPEN: Click and click-hold the unlock button until your front 2 windows are rolled down.

GLOBAL CLOSE: Click and click-hold the lock button until your front 2 windows are rolled up.

Great write-up! This did not work for me at first! After completing your fifth step listed above, I had to go into the DDM & PDM(easy way) and enable global close in each.
Edit: now works as it should!

I didn't have the option for even the roll down in my Infotainment system settings. I did however use Forscan and these instructions and mine is now working. Before mine didn't even roll down. I was told by one person it is due to not having a sunroof so was not enabled at factory. It is all working now. thanks

@Nightshade or @Pbmustang8248, can you help me with this? Mine doesn't global open or close, and I was told the same thing about not having the sunroof. I followed the steps above and in the DDM & PDM(easy way), both say enabled.

Also, has anyone figured out if global open/close can work on the rear windows too?

The rear windows do not have the Auto Up/Down feature so it will not work on them.

For me, it didn't work until I did both the easy way and as built way.
You'll have to go into the as-built menus and make the changes shown on post #1 in this thread.

Figured it out. In step 3, it says to search for “Approach Detection”, but step 4 says Global Close. I was doing multiple FORScan changes at the same time, including “Approach Detection”, so I didn't even notice the difference. When I searched for "Global" instead, I found all the settings for open and close. It now works! Thanks.

ah yes. If I recall correctly, Nightshade released this tutorial as well as the Approach Detection tutorial at roughly the same time. I believe that was a mistype.
@Nightshade - can you update the description in the 1st post on this thread?

I would also recommend updating the line "**Global Windows Open should be enabled by default as standard." That is only true if you have the sound & sun package AKA sunroof. If you don't, the option is hidden in Settings.
