Hey All,
Is it ok to use additives to the fuel for cleaning injectors in these STs? I was looking at STP Gas treatment but open to corrective insight.
Thanks!

I don't think an occasional in-the-tank cleaner will do you any harm. That said, Top Tier fuels (not to be confused with octane rating) contain all the cleaners you should need. Chevron, for instance, the brand behind Techron, includes it in their fuel. Others use a generic version or its equivalent. Buy a Top Tier fuel and you should be good to go. There are a lot of good videos on this. This is a simple one.

Won’t hurt anything, but won’t help anything either as long as your using Top Tier fuel.

Thanks for the hits peeps! I had been using Crown because of its competitive pricing but I know it's not a top tier fuel. That's why I was looking at an additive. It's cheaper than Shell and other top tiers, to use a less expensive fuel and add the detergent.
I will however, consider Costco and check their prices.
I've seen Shell dispense at almost dollar more per gallon than what I'm purchasing. Even with the Giant points discount, it is still ridiculously more expensive.

Costco gas around my area is about the same as cheap gas around me. An additive every once in a while with cheap fuel isn’t going to be near as good as Top Tier fuel.

You all realize that nearly all gasoline is made and comes from the same refineries right. Its not uncommon for a Mobil, BP, Sunoco, etc. trucks to be pulling up and filling from the same supply refineries. Now each company may add their own snake oil additived to the original blend but its all pretty much the same. If anyone is getting "bad" fuel then a lot of that may be from the facility despensing it (IE- The Gas Station Itself). A run down looking gas station might want to be avoided.

And outside of loading racks at the refiner the bulk of it is shipped to storage terminals where gas from every refiner in the area is dumped into the same storage tanks. The additive package for a particular brand is blended at the loading rack, save for Costco who blends theirs on site during off loading.
Your Chevron gas may very well be ChevronExxonShellBPWhoever gas and you’ll never know.

It's all about the additive package, not the bulk fuel, that determines whether it is a Tier 1 fuel. Many additives are added as the truck is loaded, some of the independents do it on delivery site. Mind you, this isn't where the octane rating is determined. That happens during the cracking process.

It's also worthwhile to understand that not all Tier 1 fuels are created equal. The Tier 1 rating means the fuel meets a minimum high standard. Some brands, including Costco, go beyond that minimum requirement.

Yes and Costco is considered a top tier brand. Costco's Kirkland Signature gasoline contains five times the EPA detergent requirement in both regular and premium grades.
I'll be visiting them next stop.

The only downside I can see with Costco fuel is the waiting in line to get to the pump.

Well damn.. I better not let my ST hear this news or it might not wanna drink any other fuel brand. SMH !!

I can't vouch for their fuel being any better than any other company's fuel but I will give Costco their props for makin a lot of good stuff. Their cakes, rotisserie chicken, etc. are damn good!
