Film on windshield, nothing has worked!

Hi all,
We have a new 25 Explorer ST, and ever since we've gotten her, there's a haze, dirt, film on the windshield, both in and out, that we can't get rid of.

We've tried alcohol, Sprayway glass cleaner, Dawn soap,etc., but it's still there.
The inside film is the worst, I have the feeling it might have been off gassing vinyl or similar, but it's REALLY annoying!!

Has anyone else seen and dealt with this before? If successful, what did you do?

You can try comet and a blue kitchen scrubby pad on the outside. It takes a lot of water to rinse away the residue so don't try it inside unless you want to flood the interior.
