Folks,
Just bought a 2022 Ford Explorer ST for wifey to replace her Ford Escape Platinum which has 140k miles on it and is still running strong but we are passing it down to our son who is getting a driving permit soon.
Anyway, I really do not like the look of the fake exhaust tips on ST and have been reseaching to replace these ugly ones. Thanks to the members on this forum who posted their setup for reference for my research.
I ended up purchasing a set of 4 Wesdon 2.25" to 4" Slant Angle Stainless Steel exhaust tips. They look very high quality and they were packaged really well to eliminate any scratches.
I have several questions and hope you guys could help:

1) Installation: Do you guys mount these exhaust tips like the factory setup where the outer tip sticks in a bit to align with the curve of the bumper or do they look better at the same length ?
2) Will the mufflers be able to hold the weigh of these exhaust tips ? They each weight around 2 lbs. I want to make sure they not rattle and they don't fall out.
3) How much do muffler shops usually charge to get these welded ? I live in Bay Area and I am expecting to pay a little more but would like to get some idea.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

The mufflers are trash cans, no issue on weight.

Just got back from replacing the exhaust tips and all I can say is they look much better looking and sportier and then factory fake ones. :D
I took several snapshots and it was raining outside. The welds seem to be pretty good ( I am not an expert on this). The guy told me since the two exhaust tips are very close side by side to bring it back if they rattle and he could put a small weld in between. This is my first mod and I am pretty happy with the results.

Take a pic from the rear so we can see how much better it looks!

@drcookie :
Welcome Aboard!!

Following up on @2020FordRaptor's comment, standing back by the rear fender/"bumper area", can you take a pic or two on each side of the vehicle also, please? What do you see?
